Just shoot me...
Revisado: 09-08-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A writer that wrote with more flow. It's mind numbing to have a writer repeat himself/herself over and over... when writing that they did whatever... I did this, I did that, I did something else.. All the ( I's ) couldn't the writer run the thoughts together without all the ( I's ) ??? I know this sounds silly, but it happens several times in this book and it's a rookie move for a writer with such a history.. I'll definitely be deleting all of their books in my wish list after listening to this.. I finished it, mainly in hope that the end might have something fascinating there, since this was their first book for me.. but NO... boring to the end..
Has Gone for Good turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I know there are other writers that can actually stimulate the imagination, unlike this one. SNOOZEFEST....
How did the narrator detract from the book?
BORING... put's me to sleep. I was listening while driving and the only thing that kept me on the road was the strip along the road that woke me as I was driving off to the right side of the road, to land me into the desert.. Monotone... drab .... will make sure I never buy a book with this guy as narrator... ZZZZZZZZ
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
yeah, it finally ended..
Any additional comments?
don't waste your credit on this book and maybe this author... zzzzzzzzzz

What did you love best about Blessed Child?
In this ever darkening world that we live in, where God is only allowed in schools upon a murder rampage, it's wonderful to listen to a great story centered on faith and Christian values.

Historia
To Porterhouse College, Cambridge, famous for rowing, low academic standards. and a proud cuisine, comes a new Master, an ex-grammar-school boy, demanding Firsts, women students, a self-service canteen, and a slot-machine for contraceptives. There is considerable opposition to this challenge to the established order, in the form of Skullion, the intransigent porter at Porterhouse, who is determined that the hallowed traditions of the College will never change.

Any additional comments?
I listened to this author for the first time traveling in tandem with other family members on the way to a funeral.. several hundred miles, through several states. They looked on in wonder trying to figure out why I was laughing so hard at such a sober, and sad event . Just another great piece of work by this man. All of his early work is a must have for me, in print as well as audible..

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

Couldn't stop listening to this one
Revisado: 10-23-11
This book not only opened my eyes to the possibilites, but gave me excellent ideas on things I need to consider in these troubled times. The story was good, characters were solid. I truly believe that were we to have this kind of incident happen here in the United States, it'd be a whole lot worse than the writer portrays. I will continue to prepare...

Historia
When Lord Petrefact hires Walden Yapp, Professor of Demotic Historiography at Kloone University, to write a scurrilious family history Yapp finds plenty of material in Buscott village, where Frederick Peterefact is running the Mill and adding new vices to the family collection. If Yapp can lay his hands on the Petrefact Papers in the Buscott Museum he may be able to expose the multi-national capitalism of the Petrefacts to the whole world.

When philandering Sir Giles Lynchwood decides it's time to wriggle free of his monumentally unattractive wife, Lady Maud, he knows divorce is out of the question. Stephen King's first full-length solo novel since Dreamcatcher, the long-awaited From a Buick 8 is "nearly flawless and one terrific entertainment," says Publishers Weekly. How nice to always be pleased by S. King, to always be taken along for the ride. Being in an audio format really allows the listener to put themselves into the book so much more. Good story line, very different, and a pleasure to experience.
