Historia
Stretched to his limit, Tamas is relying heavily on his few remaining powder mages, including the embittered Taniel, a brilliant marksman who also happens to be his estranged son, and Adamat, a retired police inspector whose loyalty is being tested by blackmail. But when gods are involved....Now, as attacks batter them from within and without, the credulous are whispering about omens of death and destruction. Just old peasant legends about the gods waking to walk the earth. No modern educated man believes that sort of thing. But they should....

In the best way possible this book had me feeling like I was losing my mind, so many twists and turns not to mention I had no idea where Robinson was going to take this novel. I really enjoyed it. Now I'm pondering the intrigue of the crossover characters, where will the Galahad take us next?

Historia
The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves.

Impressive
Revisado: 04-28-22
I have now read the beginning novels of a few litRPG series and I've enjoyed most of them. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with stat sheets and RPG elements but they obviously come with the genre. What I found different with The Ritualist was, in my opinion, a better balance between RPG elements and old fashioned fantasy styles. I'd strongly recommend this novel for any first-timer trying litRPG; it is less all in on the RPG elements focusing more on the traditional fantasy elements.

Beyond Expectation
Revisado: 03-21-22
It is my opinion that creating a moving and satisfying ending is among the most difficult challenges a writer faces when making a novel. Andreas Eschbach manages to execute an ending that surpasses in quality what was already and awesome journey of two loveable characters. This work far exceeded my expectations, consider that I dove in without any hint of plot.

Historia
The Ministry for the Future is a masterpiece of the imagination, using fictional eyewitness accounts to tell the story of how climate change will affect us all. Its setting is not a desolate, post-apocalyptic world, but a future that is almost upon us - and in which we might just overcome the extraordinary challenges we face.

Interesting
Revisado: 01-24-22
I'm glad I didn't put too much salt in the angry one star reviews. I was almost scared off but in my opinion this book was actually really good, I personally think its good to take these explorations of climate change to certain extremes. Although hard to swallow they are important to understand; they are not outside the realm of possibility. Kim takes us down an exploration of a possible future and the potential methods of salvation in an interesting way. I believe anyone looking for insight into a climate charged future thats able to accept the sci-fi aspects of the novel are in for a nice read.

The stories contained within are born of such wild imagination! I believe it's nye impossible that someone would not be blown away by at least one if not all contained within. In particular 'The Thinker' really spoke to me. I would strongly recommend to anyone who has enjoyed Cixin Liu, Ted Chiang, or Ken Liu.

Outer Dark is a novel at once fabular and starkly evocative, set is an unspecified place in Appalachia, sometime around the turn of the century. A woman bears her brother's child, a boy; he leaves the baby in the woods and tells her he died of natural causes. Discovering her brother's lie, she sets forth alone to find her son. Both brother and sister wander separately through a countryside being scourged by three terrifying and elusive strangers, headlong toward an eerie, apocalyptic resolution.

Grim Humor + Quick Pace
Revisado: 11-02-21
McCarthy is rapidly becoming my favorite non-fantasy fiction author. Despite the sometimes dense and archaic language he uses, I find myself getting well imagined visual images accompanying the often humor and darkness fraught storylines. Would recommend to anyone who has enjoyed his other work.

Beautiful
Revisado: 09-02-21
I began this novel unaware of the synopsis due to having purchased it on merit in a two for one; I was not disappointed. Alongside George Guidall's loveable voice and the feeling of understanding for the work that it radiates is a story which blends modern themes of the contemporary dystopian SciFi with the important lessons from ancient eastern mysticism in a way that feels entirely unique while simultaneously offering a familiarity akin to those novels we all love, by the greats themselves, such as PKD and Bradbury. I cannot recommend this novel enough and give it the highest praise.
