Historia
Imagine that everyone you have ever known or loved was forced against their will into a state of demonic possession and spiritual slavery. Imagine an unholy cabal of the world's richest and most powerful men directing this sinister plan in order to cement their unbridled control of the planet. Imagine two heroes emerging from that darkness to do battle with the forces of evil.

Predator ships stream into human space in unprecedented numbers. The Colonial Marines, controlled by Weyland-Yutani, respond to the incursion, thus entering the Rage War. This terrifying assault by the Yautja cannot go unchallenged, yet the cost of combat is high. Predators are master combatants, and each encounter yields a high body count. Then, when Lt. Johnny Mains and his marines - the VoidLarks - enter the fray, they discover an enemy deadlier than any could imagine.

I was really wanted to like this book!!
Revisado: 05-15-16
Let me start by saying NOOOOO!!!! I have been waiting so long for a new Predator book to come out and was disappointed...
So when I think of Predators, BAD @SS is all I really thought needed be said and is the only reason we read Predator books! That being said maybe Tim Lebbon needs more input. So to most of us fans, Predators are super high tech, Huge hulking Hunters with really cool weapons! So Great and Scary in fact that Superman himself has a difficult time defeating one!
Mr. Lebbon portrays them as little more than red shirted Startrek extras! He has them die by the dozens; Running from battle getting chased across the Galaxy; Making deals with humans because the big bad xenomorphs are bullying them! Just generally weak.
It is 600 years in the future and the Predators are still using the exact same clunky technology as 1987?? Meanwhile the humans have developed cool spaceships, stealth suits that can do virtually anything, and countless other super weapons!
There was a time when killing a Predator was a challenge and took 300 pages to get it done! Tim Lebbon managed it in the first chapter!
To sum it up if you want to watch predators run away and hide. Oh wait they can't hide because their cloak technology sucks!

Historia
Legend has it that Paxon Leah is descended from the royals and warriors who once ruled the Highlands and waged war with magical weapons. But those kings, queens, and heroes are long gone, and there is nothing enchanted about the antique sword that hangs above Paxon’s fireplace. Running his family’s modest shipping business, Paxon leads a quiet life—until extraordinary circumstances overturn his simple world . . . and rewrite his destiny.

a disapointed fan
Revisado: 06-15-15
Would you ever listen to anything by Terry Brooks again?
yes
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
disapointment
Any additional comments?
Terry Brooks, one of my favorite authors has been slipping for the last few series including this one. He is over 70 after all. I am a bit sad that we may never get the novel about Galaphile and the first druid council or worse we will get it and it will be a short 300 page rushed novel like the stuff he has been putting out lately.

Historia
After taking up his enchanted sword against the dark sorcerer Arcannen, Paxon Leah has become the sworn protector of the Druid order. Now a critical hour is at hand, as a beloved High Druid nears the end of her reign and prepares to pass from the mortal world to the one beyond. There is little time for Paxon to mourn his friend and benefactor before duty summons him. For in a distant corner of the Four Lands, the magic of the wishsong has been detected. Paxon must accompany a Druid emissary to find its source—and ensure the formidable power is not wielded by the wrong hands.

Is it just me?
Revisado: 06-13-15
Let me start by saying I am such a huge fan of the Shannara world! That being said has the last few series gone a stray? Where is the testosterone! I'm tired of reading about an impotent corrupt druid order! There is so much of this world I want to read about but this water downed Omsford legacy is not it...Give me a powerful mysterious book like Galaphile and the first druid order! Give me adventures of Allanon!
Too be honest if this book had to stand on its own merit and not the fact we all love Terry Brooks, I would not have even finished it much less gave it 3 stars!
