The preference from the readers was literally the best book reading I’ve heard. I when I say that I mean all the voice actresses were phenomenal. The stories were powerful and relatable.

Misogyny Parading as Feminisme

This book promotes misogynistic ideals wile parading as a feminist historical book. The author tries to paint a picture that Mormon women pressured into polygamy(I know they were pressured because I myself am a Mormon) by religious commandment actually enjoyed living a polygamist lifestyle. The author further tries to paint a picture that those polygamous women actually had a better life then non polygamous women at that time. Her view feeds into misogyny and ideas on ownership of women. When reading be sure to pull apart the authors ideas from facts.

The writing style threw me off a bit as well. The author begins writing as a historical text book style then switches to a historical novel. This switches back and forth throughout the book. Sometimes switching from one paragraph to the next. The switches are easy to flow but it messes with the flow of the book.

The narrator red the book as if it were a hallmark channel reading, not my personal taste. Others may like the narration style through.

Margaret Sanger makes some very valid points about an individual’s rights to control their number of offspring and why this is important for an individual and society at large. The controversy comes in when she discusses who she feels should procreate. She has some very abilist, racist, and classist views on procreation. So aspects of her theory need to be seriously scrutinized.

Gay is relatable and real. I know she is a women with many degrees and lives in a world of intellectuals but she writes for the every day person. She talks about very relevant pop culture and it’s influence on us all in a real way. She honest and humorous. She has made a book on feminism entering.

The best performance I’ve heard from a narrator ever. She knows how to act out the words in a way to draw you into the story. I would love to hear more books from this narrator.

When my daughter and son are 10 this is definitely a book I will be busying them. There is so much information in this book that is so curtail to being safe emotionally and physically with sex. A must read for all teens or individuals who are considering to have sex. The book focuses more on heterosexual sexuality and relationships but it also includes topics LGBTQ + community deals with in sex and relationships.

It’s an inspiring story that is so relevant to today’s human rights moment we are in. It shows that one person can make a difference and drive change towards equality. It’s told in a casual way where you feel Billie Jean is just having a regular conversation with you. It’s easy to follow and shares an insiders view to the biggest victories in women’s professional sports.

A powerful tool for birth

I loved the information and practice providing in this book. It was very helpful with management of pregnancy and birth. I was very happy to have the writer discuss the pain and difficulty of pregnancy. My pregnancies are extremely painful and most books don’t address that. It helped with the management of my mental blocks that I had created dure to past pregnancy experience. My only critique of the book is that the first about 3/4ths of the book was very powerful and strong providing wonderful tools and techniques and the last fourth ended with not quite as powerful of a message. I would have liked the actress reading the book to be a bit more ferm and powerful in her reading. She spoke in a softer and compassionate manner. Which may resonate with some listeners but I feel a topic such as birth should be spoken of with strength and power. As giving birth is literally the most powerful thing any human is capable of doing.
