I really enjoy the interesting mishmash of worlds that the main character lives in and following his journey as he advances. My only objection is that each book is so short.

Unusual voice leant atmosphere

I enjoyed the story, the pacing was good and the occasional situation where the reader doesn't quite know who is being described in a new chapter, or apparent incongruities between different accounts, and tantalising clues kept me guessing and engaged.

Interesting story almost takes place

I wish there was more to this book. it feels like the story is finally beginning when it ends. The entire book feels like a long walk down memory lane to explain the history behind current events, current events being whatever will happen in the next book. Unfortunately I don't have access to that.
The premise of the story is extremely interesting and the characters are multi faceted and well developed, though some drastic changes in the main character at the end leave a sense of discontinuity which lingers, causing some disorientation. The pacing is a little jarring at times, especially somewhat towards the end and, as before, the entire book feels like a flashback. The writing style is very good, and the narrator's performance also, so now that that is out of the way, I look forward to whatever comes next. The book certainly ends portentously.

Enjoyable

Lots of people had negative reviews for the narrator. I expected it to be terrible, and it wasn't, so it didn't bother me as much as it did others. The story is exciting, fast paced and feels like a realistic projection of the future. very cool;
