Historia
The house seemed to sit apart from the others on Katydid Street, silent and alone, like it didn’t fit among them. For Violet Hart—whose family is about to move into the house on Katydid Street—very little felt like it fit anymore. Like their old home, suddenly too small since her mother remarried and the new baby arrived. Or Violet’s group of friends, which, since they started middle school, isn’t enough for Violet’s best friend, Paige. Everything seemed to be changing at once. But sometimes, Violet tells herself, change is okay.

First book I’ve listened to a about Gen Alpha. It was really interesting and engaging.

I absolutely loved this book. It reminded me of being 11 and reading books about girls in the 60’s and 70’s, even though the book is set in 2024 and the protagonist is my nephew’s age. It made me think a lot about how we talk to kids about how they feel.

Historia
Funny Boy: The Richard Hunt Biography tells the life story of a gifted performer whose gleeful irreverence, sharp wit, and generous spirit inspired millions. Richard Hunt was one of the original main five performers in the Muppet troupe. He brought to life an impressive range of characters on The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and various Muppet movies, everyone from eager gofer Scooter to elderly heckler Statler, groovy girl Janice to freaked-out lab helper Beaker, even early versions of Miss Piggy and Elmo.

The ‘I Saw The TV Glow’ of biographies

Just exactly what I needed from a Muppet biography. Stein’s book covers specific sketches and characters that I remember from early childhood. She exhorts the reader through her subject Richard Hunt to seize life. We only have one.

Historia
Alan Moore channels both the ecstatic visions of William Blake and the theoretical physics of Albert Einstein through the hardscrabble streets and alleys of his hometown of Northampton, UK. In the half a square mile of decay and demolition that was England's Saxon capital, eternity is loitering between the firetrap housing projects. Embedded in the grubby amber of the district's narrative, among its saints, kings, prostitutes, and derelicts, a different kind of human time is happening.

Alan Moore!
Revisado: 07-03-24
Novels are as good as his comics. Maybe better. Can’t wait for more. In a just universe this would be more popular than Watchman. Shelve it next to ‘From Hell’

A great view from the middle of a conflict. I probably listened later than I should have. I hope she writes another book soon.
