Historia
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

I wish I knew sooner...WOW.
Revisado: 02-29-24
Given today's political and ethical climate, it's no surprise how heavy this story hits. I wish that I had known sooner, so that I could've gained more wisdom and respect for the parallels we face today. Please, listen to this book. Yes, it is a fictional story intricately interlaced into real events, but eye opening nonetheless. Fantastic narrator, painfully sobering truths, and a very powerful message.

Great story for MATURE adults.
Revisado: 11-08-22
After having spent multiple days reading reviews for this story, and trying to decide whether or not it was worth listening to... I went for it. Glad that I did! A really interesting concept, would make a great movie! You'll read MANY negative reviews about "political stances" in the story. Does the author assert their feelings... yes. Is it unfavorable to conservative Americans...? Yes. Coming from a conservative American.... who CARES!!!! We're all entitled to our own opinions. The comments in the story are BRIEF, and do not take away from the story in any way. So... if you're a mature adult, capable of withstanding an opinion that differs from your own... and want to have a good listen? I highly recommend it.

Historia
April Clarke-Cliveden was the first person Hannah Jones met at Oxford. Vivacious, bright, occasionally vicious, and the ultimate It girl, she quickly pulled Hannah into her dazzling orbit. Together, they developed a group of devoted and inseparable friends—Will, Hugh, Ryan, and Emily—during their first term. By the end of the year, April was dead.

Audio echoes really bad.
Revisado: 08-04-22
I love Ruth Ware, and I did enjoy this book. However, for the first time I had to take multiple breaks from it to be able to focus and enjoy the storyline. It is worth a listen in my opinion if you can get past the echo. Imogen Church is amazing as always... just the sound quality is lacking. Great twist... as usual. The story just drags a bit more than necessary.

Historia
The popularity of Agatha Christie’s debut novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, and the public enthusiasm for its hero, dapper Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, prompted the editor of London-based society magazine The Sketch: A Journal of Art and Actuality, to offer the author a contract for a series of 12 short stories. When they finished, they had proved so popular that Ingram asked for a second round - another 12.

Awful Narration
- De Amazon Customer en 04-08-21
The narrator made it impossible to listen to...
Revisado: 03-26-21
I never leave reviews, because I don't enjoy being negative. However, this is just honesty. There were some accents that the narrator performs, that are tolerable. Alternatively, the poor character performances just ruined the story for me. I was so looking forward to the stories, as I LOVE Agatha. I am disappointed to have wasted a credit on this bundle.
To summarize, the story is read at too fast a pace. Some character voices sound like Bullwinkle. Should you enjoy this speed, and fluctuate accent... proceed in your purchase. If not, save your money. I wish that I did.

Historia
When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss - a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten - by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family. What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare - one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

Historia
On a day that begins like any other, Hal receives a mysterious letter bequeathing her a substantial inheritance. She realizes very quickly that the letter was sent to the wrong person - but also that the cold-reading skills she's honed as a tarot card reader might help her claim the money. Soon, Hal finds herself at the funeral of the deceased...where it dawns on her that there is something very, very wrong about this strange situation and the inheritance at the center of it. Full of spellbinding menace and told in Ruth Ware's signature suspenseful style, an addictive thriller.

Loved every minute!
Revisado: 11-28-18
First of all Imogen Church is a wonderful narrator! I also gave The Lying Game (also by Ruth Ware) a listen, and she does an amazing job bringing the characters alive. Hard to say for certain but Death of Mrs. Westaway may very well be my favorite story from Ruth Ware thus far... Yep. It's that good. All loose ends tied, great character development, and as always her imagery is fantastic! Must listen👍
