A Decent Read for Most of It.

Expansive scientific perspectives of the first two stories makes them worthwhile, following popular science fiction themes. The second story strings the reader along for most of it by omitting facts that really weren't worth the frustration to hold back, then it ends with massive cliff hangers that never are resolved.

The third felt like a big waste of time and the narration was weirdly misplaced, even though I like this narrator's other work.

Why call the stories a set when they're basically unrelated though. That is annoying.

Well performed reading with interesting story that keeps the cheap events at a minimum. The story is definitely an action adventure that gets most of the catastrophe and negative out of the way in a big hit so the rest of the story can deliver mostly consistent gratification.

An entertaining and creative story that's more fiction than science, but not full of absurdities. Not perfect, but still really good. Narration is top quality as well.

The narration was just excellent and is probably what made me keep listening. The story though...

I'm somewhat used to novels, especially sci-fi novels, using incomprehensively bad decisions and unrealistically abstract behavior as a plot line continuance, but this story may take the cake.

I won't place spoilers here, just in case someone wants to read a bad book for the sake of it, but there are so many convenient holes and unthinkably bad decisions that form the foundation of this story that I feel just insulted to have spent my time to make it through the end. I should have quit 2 hours in when my early conclusion were telling me to save my time,. but I wanted to give the writer leeway for being creative. Sometimes though, respect for artistic license is not really warranted. I regret listening to this story.

And what is with all these humanity hating, Doomsday embracing sci-fi writers? That theme was worn out by 1980. Good grief.
