The story is difficult to follow due to the performance. Maybe because I am an American or maybe because I am of the wrong societal bent but this is one that I have a hard time getting any interest in for many reasons.

What did you love best about The Dark Between the Stars?

That Mark Boyett read it and not Scott Brick. I really like Kevin J. Anderson's universe's and this one is quite unique. The first series was a fantastic yarn but the audio books had one bad thing, Scott Brick the most predictable narrator in Audible.

What other book might you compare The Dark Between the Stars to and why?

Possibly a Kornbluth novel.

What does Mark Boyett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Not being completely predictable.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are some great moments of suspense, though after the first series it is a bit easier to spot the outlet of the suspense.

Would you try another book from Brandon Sanderson and/or Michael Kramer and Kate Reading ?

As much as I truly like Brandon Sanderson's writing, this just seems to be a compilation of notes that was slammed together to get spending money for Christmas. Noting really new, no explanations that answered burning questions. Just extra junk left over from other books. The only chapter I found even moderately worthwhile was the last chapter.

What was most disappointing about Brandon Sanderson’s story?

No new story lines or characters just leftovers no feast.

Which scene was your favorite?

As always Kate Reading and Micheal Kramer did a fabulous job so there are no specific scenes that jump out at me.

Do you think Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

The follow up would be to finish up Stormlight Archive.

Any additional comments?

I am still a fan of Mr Sanderson, but I am no longer going to be duped into a compilation of snacks.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definately recommend this series to someone who appreciates sci-fi/fantasy. Very well executed and thoughtful characters. Yes, it is the age old premise of young person raised off the grid, so to speak, finding out he/she is gifted beyond that of others. But this story is set apart by the approach to this premise.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Fate's Forsaken Omnibus?

I will have to withhold judgement of this question until I have read and reread the books a few times.

Have you listened to any of Derek Perkins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first series I have hear by Mr Perkins and he could give lessons to Scott Brick on how to execute characters in a manner that is unpredictable without being repetitive. Or should I say, Mr. Perkins has the unique ability of maintaining the story line without becoming part the story. This is a series I can say I want to hear more than one or two times.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but I was convinced that it was going to take a few bouts before I got to the end very early on in the first book.

Any additional comments?

I was pleasantly surprised with this story and I anticipate the rest of the series, especially after reading the reviews for the following books.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, especially a niece or nephew.

Would you recommend The Chronicles of Dragon Collection: Series 1 Omnibus, Books 1-10 to your friends? Why or why not?

Possibly it would be better than the audio book as it would not be as distracting due to irrelevant and inappropriate sounds and music.

What does Lee Alan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Yes, but it is overwhelmed by the noise and background music many times.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Beginning team

Any additional comments?

As I mentioned. The audiobook would have actually been better and much less distracted if the music and sound effects were more appropriate to both the characters, events and descriptions of the characters. It is as if someone received a sampler as a gift and were trying out all the different functions with no idea of story or dramatic instance or dialog.

What did you love best about Threat Vector?

The story followed the previous thread very well without twenty pages of rehashing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack Junior was my favorite as his story has been built through the previous 15 books.

Have you listened to any of Lou Diamond Phillips’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is probably Lou Diamond Phillips' best genre. He gives an added interest and dimension to the story line. I am truly amazed that he is not being chosen to complete the rest of the books. Rather using a mediocre narrator to save money I would assume. After a few books, as audio book sales plummet, Random House will realize that Scott Brick is a one trick pony and has no ability to keep the interest in the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to savor this book for hours and draw it out as long as possible. Unfortunately it ended long before I was ready for it to do so.

Any additional comments?

I won't buy any books that Scott Brick narrates as he has no ability to change his performances and it completely predictable in his narrations.

This proves that the narrators can make anything sound interesting and compelling, though Scott Brick does make my ears bleed.

I was amazed that Audible would bring in another version of this book. I have had it for about a year from the previous publisher, it may be a performance thing, but I am not going to buy another version of the book even though I think it is a very good book.

The story is a fair line but it seems to be simply another version of a tale of family with an out of control heir and pointless life. It doesn't get much better than that for as long a story as it is. It could have been good if there had been some plot development or character development but nope, the characters are two dimensional with a single saving grace, they have an inexhaustible sex drive. This seems to be simply driven by LG ideals or some fantasy of them. It may be worth your time but in the end, it wasn't worth mine

I am truly happy with Mr. Sanderson's new series. I was skeptical after Mistborn, that any author could have another series as original and engaging as the previous series. He has done it and Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are undoubtedly the best voices for this series as well. Thanks for the series Brandon and thanks for the performances Michael and Kate.
