Historia
Claudia is used to disregarding her fractious family’s model-minority expectations: she has no interest in finding either a conventional career or a nice Chinese boy. She’s also used to keeping secrets from them, such as that she prefers girls—and that she's just been stealth-recruited by Veracity, a referrals-only online-dating detective agency.

Noir meets cozy mystery with an innovative premise and memorable characters. I listen to a ton of mysteries and this is one of the best I’ve heard in a while. Strongly recommend!!

The last person Alice Shipley expected to see since arriving in Tangier with her new husband was Lucy Mason. After the accident at Bennington, the two friends - once inseparable roommates - haven't spoken in over a year. Lucy - always fearless and independent - helps Alice emerge from her flat and explore the country. But soon a familiar feeling starts to overtake Alice - she feels controlled and stifled by Lucy at every turn. Just misses the mark
Revisado: 09-09-19
There was a lot that appeals to me in this novel (weird, intense friendships, a dark mystery in the past, representations of female "hysteria"), but somehow it didn't quite come together in the end. Many of the book's events struck me as unbelievable -- I won't detail them here to avoid spoilers -- and as a result some of the twists in the story felt unearned or unconvincing. That said, I enjoyed listening to much of it. I just wish it were a little bit better.

Historia
On a seemingly ordinary day, 17-year-old Lia Haddock hears news that will change her life forever: 300 men, women, and children living at a research facility in Limetown, Tennessee, have disappeared without a trace. Among the missing is Emile Haddock, Lia’s uncle. What happened to the people of Limetown? It’s all anyone can talk about. Except Lia’s parents, who refuse to discuss what might have happened there. They refuse, even, to discuss anything to do with Emile.

I loved this book
Revisado: 01-02-19
I have been a fan of the Limetown podcast since it first aired a few years ago, and I was so excited to see that it's back this year with the wonderful addition of a novel. The backstory provided by this novel is excellent -- I was completely gripped by it and found myself finding excuses to keep listening. I think it might be a bit odd as a stand alone, but as a companion to the podcast it is terrific.

Not as good as the podcast
Revisado: 01-02-19
I absolutely love the Alice Isn't Dead podcast, but I was disappointed by this novel. Unlike Fink's other novelization of his podcast -- Welcome to Nightvale -- this one doesn't add much to the original story. I found it hard to stay interested. That said, Jasika Nicole is amazing, a really talented voice actor, and I think anyone who hasn't listened to the podcast will enjoy.
