Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Loved it. You think this is the same story, its not.
Revisado: 05-20-22
I love how the author built on their strengths, hilarious inner monologue, space, science nerdism…
At first you think this a redux of The Martian as a sequel. Its not. Its got several twists I love. The author pushes the envelope and does it well.

Treads new ground and loved it
Revisado: 12-17-20
Couldnt put it down. Super fun. Always worried about a sequel being formulaic and predictable. It wasnt. Loved it. It found new ground while keeping the parts I loved from the first. There’s threads to pick up for additional books, but the conclusion is super satisfying.
Masterpiece. Hats off to Ernest Cline. Great reading as well.

Historia
Most new startups today are in highly regulated industries with strong incumbents - transportation, hotels, drones, energy, gaming, education, health care, cannabis, finance, liquor, insurance. The more startups try to snatch a piece of the establishment's pie, the more they risk running into a political wall. That's where Bradley Tusk comes in. As Tusk writes, "Every new company is essentially a tech startup. And when you disrupt someone in any industry, they don't say thank you. They punch you in the nose.

Defines the future for startups—harder
Revisado: 10-09-18
Loved the case studies from personal examples. Thesis is strong—low hanging fruit for startups in sole software largely taken. Now startups move to the next level—regulated industries and its harder. Here’s what the author learned after transitioning from politics to tech.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Amazing! Page turner. I want to see this movie.
Revisado: 07-19-16
I loved this plot. I finished it in about two days. Not since pillars of the earth have I had so much fun envisioning the authors world. I also cant wait to see a movie of this...if you've ever wanted to see a world where cowboy bebop intersects fight club intersects ultra man intersects ghost busters intersects rush intersects star wars intersects family ties intersects gundam, this is the book for you. Again, I want to see the movie. I pretty much would never say that about a book.

Historia
Neal Stephenson is a blazing new force on the sci-fi scene. With the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, he has "vaulted onto the literary stage." It weaves virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility - in short, it is the gigathriller of the information age.

1st 15 min tough, rest really good
Revisado: 11-29-15
Get past the first 15 min (which I found really difficult to buy the premise) and the rest of the book is fantastic, then the 1st 15 min has little to do with the story.
