Lacking lots of detail and follow up after stories
Revisado: 07-10-23
The author has had some great experiences, but the book doesn't go into much detail. Also for an audiobook it's pretty short.

Great stories.
Revisado: 04-04-21
Michael is a great storyteller, and I could see myself sitting under his wind at Oshkosh and listening to stories into the wee hours of the night.
He did get one thing right. It is about the people most of the time. The people in the tight groups keeping the aircraft alive.
He has a remarkable aviation journey.
I was however expecting to learn a little more about he 195. What its predecessors, successors, how many were built, who operated them. How many models etc. If you a looking for that go elsewhere.
It's a great listen. The parachute schools, the party's and scraping a living were a good listen.

Historia
I’m a cargo pilot. In the industry, I’m known as a “Freight Dog.” I fly canceled checks and other types of high-value cargo around the country, mostly at night, in airplanes that are older than I am. Flying freight - or “work” as we call it - in small, twin-engine aircraft is a lesser known side of the aviation world. Our day starts when banker’s hours end. Thousands of flights move millions of pounds of work from city to city every night while the rest of the country is asleep.

Complete wast of time
Revisado: 12-01-19
I wish I could give zero stars for story. It isn’t satire it’s not funny interesting. There are many better aviation books out there this is about the worst. Predictable plot lines.
I kept hoping or would get better, the hero would fix it and things would correct. But it never happens. It’s a train wreck where no one escapes.

Historia
The virus now known as Stuxnet was unlike any other piece of malware built before: Rather than simply hijacking targeted computers or stealing information from them, it proved that a piece of code could escape the digital realm and wreak actual, physical destruction—in this case, on an Iranian nuclear facility.

More facts less FUD
Revisado: 05-25-16
Would you listen to Countdown to Zero Day again? Why?
The author seem to equate any human error to a precursor to a cyber attack.
By his analogy, any auto accident or aircraft accident could be a prototype for some malicious calculated activity. It isn't, it's just a mistake.
Yes there are problems but rather than focus on the attacks he seems to focus too much on the fear associated with it. Cyber security isn't something to joke about, but overbearing in his spreading of FUD.

good story but
Revisado: 04-08-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Squawk 7700 to be better than the print version?
Audio recording had problems. Chapter numbers in player did not align with chapter numbers in book. Audio was sometimes garbled, and repeated.

Historia
Robert Penn has saddled up nearly every day of his adult life. In his late 20s, he pedaled 25,000 miles around the world. Today he rides to get to work, sometimes for work, to bathe in air and sunshine, to travel, to go shopping, to stay sane, and to skip bath time with his kids. He's no Sunday pedal pusher. So when the time came for a new bike, he decided to pull out all the stops. He would build his dream bike, the bike he would ride for the rest of his life; a customized machine that reflects the joy of cycling.

Nice story but long
Revisado: 01-05-16
The book is not just about the bike. A lot more stuff on bicycle history however interesting in small amounts but this was too much. I was expecting the author to build the bike or at least the wheels, but he didn't he agonized over the paint color. End selection of parts was no surprise either.

Historia
From a very young age, Gino Pastori knew he wanted to fly the iconic DC-3. He wanted to fly freight because it was flown at night. Gino shares his memories of what it took to become a commercial pilot and what it was like to live the dream. With more than 7,400 flying hours logged in DC-3s, there were many incredible flying stories. This memoir includes the most memorable stories, such as flying a plane after being temporarily blinded by a lightning strike.

Great story about a normal kid with a pretty normal dream

Not the shinny glamorous life of a pilot but the story of someone that came up the hard way. Flew old dc3 aircraft at night in bad weather. A simple book but very injoyabke
