Whether you're a new nurse or a veteran member of the clan, the nursing learning curve is a vast one. Part how-to guide with a touch of memoir thrown in, take the time to laugh and cry with an author who says what everyone else in the field is thinking.

Still laughing
Revisado: 04-20-20
I’ve been laughing since the beginning. I’ve been a Nurse for 35 years with the last 26 years as a NICU and PICU Nurse. I’ll never be a “former Nurse.” Just like a Marine. Once a Marine always a Marine. I’ve had so many flashback moments as I listened to this book. Sonja has made this book a book of flashback moments as well as reminders of my newbie Nurse days. Thank you for reminding people exactly what we do. I say as a calling and not just a job. There are nurses who only do it for a paycheck and thankfully they usually fizzle out and leave for other jobs. You must love this job because I know of no other job that someone can be pee

This is a phenomenal book. I listened to it all in one day. I felt drawn to all of the characters and storylines. It’s my first Kathleen Grissom book. But it won’t be my last. Both Orlagh Cassidy and Bahani Turpin did amazing jobs as the narrators of this book. There isn’t enough space to fully review the amazing characters and storylines. I will definitely refer this book to all of my friends. This is a book that makes me wish I belonged to a Book Club. There is so much that can be discussed. Thank you Kathleen Grissom for an amazing book. I’ll be picking up some more of your books/audible. Terri Kaestner

I truly enjoyed this book. It was actually one of the shorter books by Dorothea Benton Frank but it’s jam packed full of wonderful descriptions that she’s famous for. And Susie Break did an amazing job with her narration. Her voice was captivating and made her Southern accent was spot on. Thank you.

Revisado: 07-22-19
I am such a big fan of Dorothea Benton Frank. Her vivid descriptions of the Low Country including Charleston, Mt. Pleasant and Shem’s Creek are amazing. I’m such a big fan that I’ve made our summer vacation to this area. Counting the days. I will Country to read the rest of her books. Whether reading or listening on Audible I am always happy. Thanks so much for all of your hard work. Also, Sandra Burr and Duck Hill do an amazing job narrating the books. I can almost picture everything with their voices so rich and authentic. Thanks again. Her mother, a devoted hypochondriac, might be unaware she’s quite ill, but that doesn’t stop her from tormenting Holly. To escape the drama, Holly’s sister, Leslie, married and moved away, wanting little to do with island life. Holly’s escape is to submerge herself in the lives of the two young boys next door and their widowed father, Archie.

This has been my favorite Callahan Garrity and House Mouse book. I really hope Mary Kay Andrews will write some more of this series. I’m also a big fan of all of her other books. I just re-read/listened to all of these Callahan Garrity books. I truly enjoy all of the situations that Edna, Neeva Jean, Sister and Baby Easterbrooks get into in each book. Hilary Huber has done a great job with the voices as well. Please MKA, write some more of these books as well as your regular books. Super fan here. Terri Kaestner.

Caretta Rutledge thought she’d left her Southern roots and troubled family far behind. But an unusual request from her mother – coming just as her own life is spinning out of control – has Cara heading back to the scenic Lowcountry of her childhood summers. Before long, the rhythms of the island open her heart in wonderful ways as she repairs the family beach house, becomes a bona fide “turtle lady” and renews old acquaintances long thought lost.

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

I’ve always been a huge John Grisham fan. Even though it takes place a few years after “A time to kill,” you don’t have to know that story to read/listen to this one; though you’d thoroughly enjoy it too. I’ve seen the movie also of “A time to kill” I can picture all of the actors as they are portrayed in this book/audible work. John Grisham has a wonderful way of describing everything in his books. And Michael Beck did a fantastic job at portraying the different characters as the narrater. Already doing some research on my next John Grisham book or audible. Thanks Terri

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.
