Absolutely torn on this one
Revisado: 01-13-25
Normally, I don’t write reviews, but felt I had to this time. Be advised, this is a long book, so you really have to commit to it. It takes quite a while to set up the characters and plot lines, so be patient. Once I was fully involved I made it through, although the “big reveals” were a bit obvious. The narrator did an excellent job, especially due to fact there were all kinds of “new” words from the characters language. And if I never hear the word “keening” again, that would be fine also! All in all, quite an adventure. The big question, of course, is will I read book 2? Yes, but not right away, I need some recovery time!

Love the Nora Kelly and Corrie Swanson characters, but this book was a little too much for even me to buy into. Still, well written and worth a listen.

Historia
The highly anticipated follow-up to William R. Forstchen's New York Times best-sellers, One Second After and One Year After, The Final Day immerses listeners once more in the story of our nation's struggle to rebuild itself after an electromagnetic pulse wipes out all electricity and plunges the country into darkness, starvation, and terror.

Worth the read to finish the trilogy.

This book got a little to preachy compared to the first two books, which detracted from the story for me. The best thing about this was the narration by Bronson Pinchot who absolutely knocked it out of the park!
