Historia
Alex Armstrong has changed everything about herself—her name, her appearance, her backstory. She’s no longer the terrified teenager a rapt audience saw on television, emerging in handcuffs from the quiet suburban home the night her family was massacred. That girl, Alexandra Quinlan, nicknamed Empty Eyes, was accused of the killings, fought to clear her name, and later took the stand during her highly publicized defamation lawsuit that captured the attention of the nation. It’s been ten years since, and Alex hasn’t stopped searching for answers about the night her family was killed.

Clever twist
Revisado: 11-06-24
I liked the build up of the story. Truly a mystery hard to solve until the end. Kept me trying to figure out who was the killer. Author did well in not repeating himself with the back story. I’m ready for another by this author.

Historia
An arranged marriage isn’t the worst fate for a princess like me. Especially because I’ve been in love with my intended groom since we were children. But when my prince shows up with an American girlfriend instead of an engagement ring, all arrangements are off. The clock is nearing midnight; I won’t turn into a pumpkin, but if I’m not wed by summer’s end, I’ll forfeit my kingdom. Just your typical royal dilemma. Out of sheer desperation, I make a deal with a devilish duke. Rafe de Silva is the prince’s rival and has a plan so ridiculous it just might work.

Repetition, repetition, repetition
Revisado: 08-23-24
The characters were so naive and the plot of the book was repeated over and over. The book was way too long. Really hard to finish listening and would not have if I hadn’t bought it.

Too long and drawn out, repetitive.
Revisado: 07-28-24
The female character was supposed to be a survivor growing up in a bad family and living on the street, but she was portrayed as being dumb and confused constantly ,The mafia family was also portrayed as confused and not very smart. The answer to every situation was to kill someone usually their own men. This series was really had to keep listening to. Won’t listen to another book by this author.

Don't dumb down your characters
Revisado: 05-09-24
This book could have been so good, however the repetitiveness ruined it. Once you map out the anxiety and problems you don't need to keep repeating them in every chapter, the reader will remember. Also, the characters were "highly trained", professional, smart deputy marshals so why would you write them doing things completely opposite of that repeatedly? First book was really good, but this one was too drawn out without reason.

Oh, and the barrel-chested neighbor with shoulders like the broad side of a barn. Definitely look out for him....

I did not like the voices of what sounded like 2 different female narrators. Their attitudes did not fit the story nor go well with the male narrator.

Historia
Rex “TW” McMurtry’s perpetual singlehood wouldn’t bother him so much if all his ex-girlfriends didn’t keep marrying the very next person they dated, especially when so many of those grooms are his closest friends. He may be a pro-football defensive end for the Chicago Squalls, but the press only wants to talk about how he’s always a groomsman and never a groom. Bartender Abigail McNerny is the gal-pal, the wing-woman, the she-BFF. Abby is convinced no one on earth could ever entice her into a romantic relationship...except that one guy she’s loved since preschool.

Easy to listen to, without tons of drama and the female is written as having common sense which is very refreshing.

Five star rating, how?
Revisado: 08-20-22
I’m not sure if it was the narrators voice or the story, but this book came off as silly. So much dialog was repeated over and over to the point of being ridiculous. Totally confused at the five star rating.

Sounds like the start of a crude joke, right? Yeah, well, the joke's on me because I'm investigating the gorgeous one in the heels with the great body. Jensen Montgomery. Now, I'm treading that area between right and wrong, good and bad, where sin and honor meld to become gray.

Not a good male narrator.
Revisado: 05-05-22
The story of this book was really good. The storyline pulled you along just like it should. The only thing I didn’t like was the male narrator. He started out okay but as the book went along he was so whiny sounding and over feminine when reading the male parts. It really made it hard to finish the book.

Good story but drawn out.
Revisado: 10-30-21
The plot of this story was interesting. The characters were well defined. The narrator did a relatively good job. However, I felt that the story was drawn out. For it to have lasted as long as it did, it needed more ump/action. It lacked excitement. Something other than talking about the missing girls, talking about the upset towns people and the invasion of the cold wind blast needed to happen. It was easy for me to stop listening and restart later.

Very drawn out and nothing exciting
Revisado: 05-26-21
I am completely confused about the 4.4 rating this book has showing. This book was very drawn out. The author kept repeating supposed problems over and over and over (example: who to hire to work at the pub). The main character ranged from being really smart when discussing clues about the murder, to asking the most paranoid off the wall questions about everything else. She could not make up her mind about anything. There was NO excitement in this text, just drawn out discussion about who to hire to work at the pub, should the kitchen be fixed and who killed the man in the ravine.
Not worth the money unless you are looking for something to put you to sleep.
