Historia
Jane Doe is a weredeer, the least-threatening shapechanger species in the world. Blessed with the ability to turn furry at will and psychically read objects, Jane has done her best to live a normal life working as a waitress at the Deerlightful Diner. She has big dreams of escaping life in the supernatural-filled town of Bright Falls, Michigan. Unfortunately, her 18th birthday is ruined by the sudden murder of her best friend's sister in an apparent occult killing. Oh, and her brother is the primary suspect.

Love Jane Doe
Revisado: 01-10-20
This was it new to me author and narrator. I’m always a little skeptical trying someone I never heard of. Thankfully, neither one disappointed! I really enjoyed the story and thought the narration was very good. (I tend to be very critical of narrators) I will definitely be continuing with this series to see what happens in Jane’s world!

Historia
Though I’ve been exonerated through the Necromancer Trial, there are those who are convinced that I am a devil-woman who should be exiled, or worse, killed. I’m trapped by the Laws of the Lost Texts. I can’t simply buy a ticket to the train and leave. I have to endure the Bridal Auction and hope my newfound friend, Quade, will be able to purchase my hand in marriage. If he fails his bid, I will be married off to one of the Crats. I’d rather be declared Unclaimed and condemned to a life of servitude to the community.

This is the second book in the Hidden Necromancer series. I am hooked on it and am looking forward to the next book to see what the future holds for Ilyse. I think Laura Bannister is doing a very good job narrating. I would recommend this series.

Historia
When I was younger, my mother saved my settlement from the unblessed dead that would have killed us all. It cost her everything to reveal her necromancy and sent shockwaves through our stringent religious settlement. Convicted of heresy against our sacred lost texts, she died soon after. Since then, I have worked hard to maintain my pious standing so that when I turn 18 I will be selected by a suitable husband at the bridal auction. As the large clock in town square ticks down to my 18th birthday, the dead have been appearing in my garden.

New to me author
Revisado: 12-15-19
Rhiannon Frater was a new to me author so I wasn't sure what to expect. I really enjoyed this book. She had me very interested in these characters and what would happen to them. I can be tough on narrators. but, I think Laura Bannister did a good job on this book. I look forward to the next book in this series. I will also be checking out more of her work.
I was given this title for an honest review. ( I would have been honest if I didn't like it....but, I really did! :)

Hooked
Revisado: 10-31-19
I am really enjoying the Cassies Scot series. I have gotten sucked into her life and want to know what will happen next. Christine Amsden has created a character that I found I care about. I am also loving Melissa Reizian Franks narration. I can be very picky about narrators and think she does a great job.
The series revolves around Cassie, a non-magical person trying to make her way in a magical family and community. I don't want to give away anything. If you like the Mercy Thompson & Kate Daniels series ( as well as Lorelei King & Renee Raudman) you will enjoy Cassie Scot.

New favorite!
Revisado: 10-25-19
This is my first Christine Amsden book...but, definitely not my last!! I really enjoyed the story overall. I am hooked and can’t wait to see what’s next for Cassie. Christine has created a character that I care about and want to know what happens in her life.
I think I can be pretty critical of narrators...with that said... I think Melissa Reizian Frank did a great job! 👍🏼 After I finish this series, I will be looking up some of her other work.

Ehhh
Revisado: 10-13-19
I was given a copy of this book to review. That is the only reason I finished the story. Luckily, the narration was very good or I don't think I would have made it through. I really did not like the main character. I felt like she was so weak willed and accepted people treating her badly. I liked her sister even less. I was just really frustrated with the characters through the entire story.
