Winter Reeves is an aristocratic Patriot forced to hide her heart amid the Loyalists of the City of New York. She has learned to keep her ears open so she can pass information on British movements to Robbie Townsend, her childhood friend, and his spy ring. Bennet Lane returns to New York from his Yale professorship with one goal: to find General Washington's spy hidden among the ranks of the elite. Both believers...and both committed to a separate cause. Will their faith in God lead them to a shared destiny or lives lived apart?

So much depth of faith
Revisado: 08-21-24
I have never read a book that has induced me to pray more than this one. The prayers, acts of faith and pure desires of some of the characters make you think of how complicated we have made our walks with the Lord to be. It's not so complicated. I enjoyed the intrigue, the danger, and of course the espionage. Good character development paired with a good theme has made this story an instant favorite.

Historia
Meg Pero has been assisting her photographer father since she was big enough to carry his equipment, so when he dies she is determined to take over his profession - starting with fulfilling the contract he signed to serve on an Army survey of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in 1871. What she doesn't realize is that the leader of the expedition is none other than the man she once refused to marry. Captain Ben Coleridge would like nothing more than to leave without the woman who broke his heart, but he refuses to wait even one more day to get started.

The Story Flows like a River
Revisado: 08-01-24
I loved the characters, the story line, the visuals that were created and the display of God's character and Love. It was monotonous at times but I suppose a real expedition could be exactly like that, short of some minor mishap or major calamity befalling them. The author did break up the slight boredoms with a change of scenery every once and awhile. What better backdrop to write a story about unfolding love and God's goodness than the uncharted canyons of infant America? I will be listening to the next installment of this series.

Four stories in one INDEED!
Revisado: 07-14-24
I like how short and sweet the stories were but I loved the continued theme and connection throughout the entirety of the four books. 8 different individuals one town and one tree through over a century of time. This was quite the listening experience. Some parts got a little repetitive and could have been rearranged to keep the listener's mind from wandering. Other than that, I enjoyed this book.

Similar story, but what a spin!
Revisado: 04-07-24
It's a well known premise and fairytale but it has been well executed in my opinion. I was excited, fearful and disappointed at all the right parts, I was eager to hear what the author would do next in regards to this well known tale of the swan princess. It is well narrated. I could actually stand to listen to the men's parts because the narrator didn't make them sound like old men as some other women narrators do.

Haunted by the horrors of war, ex-cavalry officer Matthew Hanger leads a band of mercenaries known as Hanger's Horsemen who have become legends in 1890s Texas. They defend the innocent and obtain justice for the oppressed. But when a rustler's bullet leaves one of them at death's door, they're the ones in need of saving. What she's not used to is having a man change his mind in a heartbeat and offer to assist her in surgery.

Touches your soul
Revisado: 03-21-24
I really enjoyed the theme and how well the author kept up with it throughout the story. I felt like Witemeyer was expounding upon the complete surrender that we should give to God as his children and she did it so well. It definitely landed a two by four upside my head. Well written. The character development was good, and the characters were believable. A really good ride!
