Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

No better listen than a Stephen King/Will Patton partnership.
Revisado: 05-27-18
The Outsider is pure, unadulterated Stephen King, and Will Patton brings his characters to life for me better than Stephen King himself. The story is a nightmare waiting to happen, just the way I like it.

Enjoyable, keeps my attention
Revisado: 05-03-13
I started this book not realizing it was third in a trilogy, but found myself so intrigued I didn't want to quit listening to go back and start from the first in the series. I've been a Peter Straub written stories fan since my first trip to the public library as a pre-teen, and am not disappointed at my first Straub audio experience. Five stars!

Love it!
Revisado: 08-13-12
What made the experience of listening to Ship of Magic the most enjoyable?
The story line is great, but the narration makes the Live Ship series truly an enjoyable listening experience.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Ship of Magic?
The death of the captain upon the deck and the quickening of the Vivatia were engrossing.
Which character – as performed by Anne Flosnik – was your favorite?
Anne Flosnick's characterization of every character makes that voice a person.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The Quickening... The Ship is Alive
Any additional comments?
Almost finished with the 3rd book in the series, listening back to back. Anne Flosnick is top of my list of narrators and is the reason I chose this series among the many epics available.
