Historia
True biz? The students at the River Valley School for the Deaf just want to hook up, pass their history finals, and have politicians, doctors, and their parents stop telling them what to do with their bodies. This revelatory novel plunges listeners into the halls of a residential school for the deaf, where they’ll meet Charlie, a rebellious transfer student who’s never met another deaf person before; Austin, the school’s golden boy, whose world is rocked when his baby sister is born hearing; and February, the hearing headmistress.

PG-13 accurate but strong language

I work within the deaf community. this book is accurate. but I wish it could have been stated without all the explicitive words strewn throughout. after several chapters I finally had to set the book down. I couldn't keep ignoring all the words. it's not two or three for the full book it's it's one every two or three paragraphs.
it's a great representation of what some deaf kids struggle with. The life that is lived when you grow up with deaf parents or without deaf parents with cochlears or without cochlears.
I just wish it could have been written so wholesome families could also read it. there are ways to explain hardship and struggle without so many explicitives.
not sure I'll be finishing the book.

this is a fictional story with biblical truths. I find it bringing the biblical story to life in an amazing way.

My husband and I have read and re read this book many times. The audio is well voiced and the story captures us every time. If you are familiar with the movie, this is nothing like it. Its so much better.
