Do some research please!

I don’t understand why any writer would publish a book set in a specific nonfictional location and not do some research about it. I lived in Seattle for 15 years and here are some things I can tell you:
1. It’s NOT on the ocean!
2. The main character talks about staying at a beach north of Seattle. The three closest are Golden Gardens, Carkeek and Richmond. There are no cliffs anywhere near any of them.
3. Lake Washington is East of the city and doesn’t impact intercity traffic
4. The narrator said he had lived in what sounded like Spodeo? Did the author mean Spokane because the other place doesn’t exist.

This woman was just stupid

This book didn’t connect with me at all. First, there was no character development leading me to invest in their lives. Next, the women were all weak, dependent women who didn’t seem to have a clue about how to make their lives better. Finally, no mystery, tension, nothing. Why write a book that contains none of the elements necessary to make it worthwhile? Crap is my review. Lastly, to the author. Stick to subjects you know something about and maybe your outcome will be better.

I lived in Seattle and find it hard to believe that a girl who is supposed to be very smart would run off with Mormons based on her observation of one family.

This narrator put pauses in the wrong places as if she were turning a page in the book. It was disjointed and awkward. She also mispronounced many words. Doesn’t anyone listen for quality control? Really, I hope they got a discount.

This book is beautifully written with an original story. I couldn’t stop listening and look forward to reading his next book.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could be as stupid as the main character in this book is and why any writer would think anyone would want to read a book about her. Insipid, unbelievable and not worth my time.

I’m not a prude but if I had wanted porn, I would have purchased in a different category. Audible needs to tag certain books explicit for those of us who don’t need a blow-by-blow, excuse my pun, description.

I thought this book would get better but it just got worse. It's a story that's been done many, many times and with much better success than this version. Boring, predictable and trite. I'm very sorry I wasted my time listening.

this is one of the best books I've listened to. I loved the story, the characters and the narration. I was sad when it ended.

Unbelievably boring

What was most disappointing about Thomas Perry’s story?

The story was not plausible and overloaded with tiny detail that added nothing but boredom.

How could the performance have been better?

It was fine.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No.
