Very thorough, easy listen, heavy on US Presidents

almost 100% political, not much else covered historically speaking
Revisado: 11-22-24
not bad, decent information, perhaps skewed a little to the left politically. I would have appreciated a little more outside the political spectrum.

Historia
Berkeley, California, 1933. In a lab filled with curiosities - beakers, microscopes, Bunsen burners, and hundreds upon hundreds of books - sat an investigator who would go on to crack at least 2,000 cases in his 40-year career. Known as the "American Sherlock Holmes", Edward Oscar Heinrich was one of America's greatest - and first - forensic scientists, with an uncanny knack for finding clues, establishing evidence, and deducing answers with a skill that seemed almost supernatural.

not bad, kind of unflattering to cops
Revisado: 03-16-22
I was surprised it how anti-police this was. she makes it sound like all cops were complete idiots. and it has a very leftist/liberal tone throughout the book. but otherwise pretty good.

Historia
Norman Mailer's Pulitzer Prize-winning and unforgettable classic about convicted killer Gary Gilmore now in audio. Arguably the greatest book from America's most heroically ambitious writer, The Executioner's Song follows the short, blighted life of Gary Gilmore who became famous after he robbed two men in 1976 and killed them in cold blood. After being tried and convicted, he immediately insisted on being executed for his crime. To do so, he fought a system that seemed intent on keeping him alive long after it had sentenced him to death.

no focus on the victims or their families
Revisado: 06-20-19
it wasn't horrible but way too focused on the bad guy instead of the victims or their families.
