All around Good. I reserve my critiques because they would be a bit knit-picky. Overall solid "Good" grade. 5 stars are given with plenty of reason by many and I totally get the importance of 5 stars ratings over all other levels but honestly we tend to over use the 5 and the 1 stars which diminish the value. This was a B grade for me and the author should be proud of that.

An eye-opening history and presentation of the Alamo past--present. I thought I knew something about the "Heroic Last Stand" --now I know I do.
I heard about this book in an article, about how the Governor of Texas was trying to block this book--which led me to check it out; the Governor called it "...fact free..." --and he is wrong. Well researched, well written, committed to truth--the authors deliver, perhaps to much truth. I still admire Davy Crockett and the last stand, if anything I appreciate it a bit more now that I know the Texas Revolution and the Battle of the Alamo was a colabrative effort by many Tejanos/Texans. Like so many true stories there is unsettling tragedy wrapped up in the history.

I have listened since the beginning and a few times through since. a monumental work on Robin's part over 200 episodes and counting.
This is the story of the Roman Empire the wouldn't teach in school. After Rome was "lost" to barbarians, after Ravenna was "lost" to the barbarians--the Empire of the Romans lived on for 1000 years! who did Charlamagne think he was? why wasn't Islam able to convert old Europe? why does Moscow call itself the "3rd Rome?"
The answer to these questions is the same and you'll find out in this podcast. Robin does a great job--so subscribe already. And thank you Mr. Pearson for finishing the Amazing story of the Roman Empire and sharing it with us.

So much to love about the book, so much more to like; surprisingly it wasn't until the appendix that the book was truly finished and there is where the story was brought home. it is not a book of tips and tricks so much as methods and reasoning. It is full of information, well told in simple yet intelligent language, very much in the mold of "The Power of Habit"
