Historia
Information is everything in "Hard-Boiled Wonderland". A specialist encrypter is attacked by thugs with orders from an unknown source, is chased by invisible predators, and dates an insatiably hungry librarian who never puts on weight. In "The End of the World" a new arrival is learning his role as dream-reader. But there is something eerily disquieting about the changeless nature of the town and its fable-like inhabitants. Told in alternate chapters, the two stories converge and combine.

Classic novel suffers from uneven narration
Revisado: 09-04-15
It may not be Murakami's best but it has moments of classic Murakami strangeness and a consistent vision. Dual narration is an interesting choice but would have been better with Rupert Degas doing both characters.

Historia
The Terrorists is the last Martin Beck mystery, finished just a few weeks before Per Wahlöö’s death. The book is, in effect, a marvelous summing up of the series. The story centers on the visit of an American senator to Stockholm. Martin Beck tries to protect him from an international gang of terrorists, while they decide that Beck too should be removed from the scene.

Great final chapter to best police series ever
Revisado: 06-13-15
if you love the Martin Beck series this is a must read. It ties up the loose ends only as much as they need tying. if you're sad the series is over, good news is you can just start all over again with Roxana. perfect narration as always.
