ABRIDGED
Revisado: 12-06-22
An abridged version of this story is a travesty. All this book provided was the beginning, middle, and end. Almost no context is provided in a story that had significant character building that crosses the entire series.
It's so unsatisfying.

Historia
Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables. My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. But before all of us can leave, aliens invade.

Let the aliens win
Revisado: 08-15-22
I can't even finish this and it's a short read. I couldn't even get to the aliens before I quit.
The story is supposed to be about a branch of the military. I get it, Space Force is a joke but if you're going to write about the military at least make it believable. None of the characters act anything like they are real people much less spacers. By the time I got to the gossip reporters I was done. "Sure their are aliens attacking but what America wants to know is; when was the last time you got laid."
Humor is a great thing for novels, but bad writing is not. Hard pass, not going to finish. If it was a paperback it would be out for the garage sale.

Historia
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Good, not great.
Revisado: 05-07-22
Will delivers entertaining stories as usual. But, the MC's almost seem cookie cutter at this point.
Main Character description: Middling attractive male, highly charismatic. Single and not looking but finds a harem without effort. Discovers a blinding need to fix other people's problems usually with the least mercy possible. [acception: hot chicks down to bang]
Dislikes: The main Character is compelled to act in ways that seem like an addiction that forces him to make odd decisions. He even confronts people acting on the same questionable moral compass as his own but he defends the criminal from them... mercilessly! [see: hot chicks down to bang].
To be honest, the only characters that I care about are the MC's daughter (smarter than your average teen) and Daria. I won't lie, I'm a little bit in love with Daria myself but I put that squarely on Andrea Parsneau.
Oh, and someone tell Andrea she's due for a raise. Awesome as always. Will I finish the book yes. finish the series, probably not.
Note: I'm 11:30hrs in so this isn't a early judgement.

Historia
You are no one. Level zero. Empty of mind and memory. Even your past has been stripped from your brain by the inscrutable System. A long, difficult road lies between you and remembering any part of who you are. A road punctuated with one death after another. You are too puny to survive by might alone. Information is the single resource that might keep you alive, but the brainless “digis” have none of it. Only those with experience can give you what you need, but most care nothing about you or your plight. In fact, some make it their mission to kill you.

If it was a book I'd burn it.
Revisado: 04-30-22
The premise of a MC in a RPG world without any gaming experience is a really good one.
However, the story would have been better if it had just been chapter after chapter of him dying horrible painful deaths. Not only is he a misogynistic ass, which is enough of a reason to pass up this title he couldn't pass a SPED gradeschool class. The juvenile quips don't help make the MC seem at all like his supposed age.
Find another book, I've paid for it so you don't have too.

All while securing peace and trade agreements with the two largest countries on the continent. Herald Frost wasn’t merely a deviant herald that laid with demihumans. He was a highly capable deviant herald that laid with demihumans.

The first book was fantastic as you would imagine to get readers to invest in three books. However anytime a story stops progressing as this one has there is no reason to continue.
Narration is still the 5-star quality is the previous stories and I hope to find more of their work.

Listen to the preview... now go find another book to listen too.
Even a good MC can't fix this repetitive slog. It's like listening to Luke whine about power converters on a loop. Never seen Star Wars? imagine listening to your four year old whine "I can't do it!" all day long but you paid someone to record and publish it.

oh yeah!
Revisado: 12-30-21
A great addition to Jez's work and one that I am looking forward to continuing. dungeon stories are far from new and it's getting harder to find original stories worthy of listening to. this one grips you and makes you wish that sixty+ hours had been put into the first book.
The main character is no flower struggling to cope with the new world and is frankly a flawed jerk. However, he progresses through the story growing at a reasonable rate without aid from some higher power (gods, fairies, AI, etc.) while doing it without unreasonable skills. He's written as a unknowledgeable man who learns as he goes. I can't wait for him to stop calling magazines clips though.
On the other hand, though the narrator is a popular one, he brings down the enjoyment of the story as he makes nearly every sentence sound like a question. Have you ever heard a British cast sound as though they were all raised as a California valley girl? I hadn't until now.

Revisado: 07-06-21
He's a farmer, with no skills in farming.
He's a mage, with no interest in fighting.
There's no drama, conflict, intrigue, fighting, just nothing to hold interest.
If there's a sequel I won't be buying it, even if Andrea Parsneau reads it.
