Great Read
Revisado: 07-22-17
Stephan James does it again. Great story with multiple plot lines and great character development. This is a prequel to most of the books in the series but if this is your 1st one it won't harm the enjoyment of the others.
My only disappointment to readers of the series is this book is set about 10 years ago, but the technology used is current technology.

Amazing Story
Revisado: 07-12-17
This is an amazing story about an unknown WWII hero. I won't go into details so I don't give away anything. It's amazing that almost nothing is known about the 2 main characters. Great listen and I listened to almost nonstop.

Looking Forward to next Nick Foley / Dash novel
Revisado: 07-05-17
This is the second book in this series. The first book Beijing Red was on of the best books I listened to last summer. This one is as good.
What I like about this book is it is not only a good suspense read, but the author has put together a cast of 5 recurring characters that he plays very well against each other. I'm looking forward to the next novel in this series.
I listen to 2-3 books a week from most of the best selling authors and after a while their plot lines get old. I think at this point Alex Ryan's two books are better than most of the best selling authors.
I would recommend reading Beijing Red first as the author builds on the relationships between the characters

A group of some of the most powerful people in the government, the military, and the private sector has begun a brutal plan to quietly take over the reins of the US government. They've begun to remove the people who stand in their way - and replace them with their own sympathizers and puppets. They've already taken out the Speaker of the House - whose death was made to look like an accidental drowning - and the president and vice president are next.

Good read but not as good as last two Dewey novels
Revisado: 07-03-17
I look forward to Ben Coes Dewey Andreas novels. The last two books have been the best books of each summer. While this book is a better read than most of the books I listen to, I can't say it's going to be the best book of the summer.

Historia
1934 was a pivotal year in the ongoing battle between the FBI and America's most famous outlaws - it was a year of giant personalities and huge shoot-outs, and it marked the deaths of John Dillinger, Bonnie and Clyde, and Pretty Boy Floyd, among others. But that year, FBI agent Sam Cowley's priority was to nab the most dangerous gangster this country has ever produced, a man so violent he scared Al Capone and was booted from the Chicago mob - Baby Face Nelson.

Good story but was expecting more
Revisado: 06-29-17
I've read all Bob Lee Swagger novels and would put this one in the middle of the pack. I found myself researching the details discussed in the story. Book got a little too bogged down in places. I do enjoy the historical aspects in the last couple of novels.
Hopefully there is a next installment in the series.

Historia
Two years ago, Robin Monarch was a top level CIA operative—perhaps the best they had when it came to black bag operations. Then one day, in the middle of an operation, with his team around him in the field, Monarch walked away, leaving his old life and friends behind without a word of explanation. Now this ex-soldier, ex-operative, and orphan with a murky past is a thief, stealing from the super-rich and has surfaced in St. Tropez.

I read listen to about 10 books a month and have been looking for new authors and characters to follow. I chose this book based on other recommendations and was presently surprised. I will definitely put this author on my must read books and catch up on the rest of the books in this series

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Revisado: 11-04-07
I debated buying this because of the lenght, don't worry about it. Ken Follet does and excellent job of keeping the story line going.
Pillars of the Earth is one of my all time favoite books and this one is as good as Pillars.

I look forward to each addition to the Covert One Series. This was a good read, however, I missed some of the characters that make this series so enjoyable.
