Historia
New York socialite Caroline Ferriday has her hands full with her post at the French consulate and a new love on the horizon. But Caroline’s world is forever changed when Hitler’s army invades Poland in September 1939—and then sets its sights on France. An ocean away from Caroline, Kasia Kuzmerick, a Polish teenager, senses her carefree youth disappearing as she is drawn deeper into her role as courier for the underground resistance movement. In a tense atmosphere of watchful eyes and suspecting neighbors, one false move can have dire consequences.

A must read
Revisado: 07-12-20
I was recommended this book based on my love of historical fiction, interest in ww2 events, and as a medical student myself. It is heavy as I’m sure you can imagine, but I could not stop listening and finished in 4 days. The readers are captivating and the story is one we should all know. 6/5 stars.

In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, and is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. Unexpectedly, his reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery.

the element has earned itself a place in my top 10 book list. when we focus on teachers teaching and students learning great things we can change the disaster of government run schooling with education.

Learning is limitless
Revisado: 12-30-15
I love this story. ignorance is a sad thing. we have so much potential yet cloud it with out closed minds. it reminds me of my years living in China. so much can be learned by spending it with others. a greater understanding only makes us better people! I hope that others will listen to this story and gain a greater desire to listen and learn from others and nature and what our body and spirit can teach us. it is limitless. learning is eternal.

Such a refreshing story!
Revisado: 07-14-15
So refreshing to listen to a book with deep meaning, interesting personal relationships, heartfelt pain and sorrow, mixed with joy, but not mixed with inappropriate scenes, dialogue, or characters, one of my favorite books this year!
