Okay. The characters are idiots! Spoilers below.

They’ve lived there all their lives and never go into the attic!? Also, they find a possible clue and just put it down and leave it? The police procedure is ridiculous too. They are trying to solve a murder but they go to the crime scene and just walk around the scene? The detective with them doesn’t try to preserve any possible clues doubt so then it’s unusable! They find files in the bad guys house that show the sheriff may be under this guys thumb and a file on their family and they just leave them there??!!! Of course, the files disappear.

Two of the sisters are attacked, but decide it must not have anything to do with what they are investigating so let’s not bother warning their sisters about it.

Just too frustrating to listen to as there are evident clues that they just totally ignore.

Spoilers …

I just couldn’t like this heroine. She is all up in arms about not being included in their business affairs when in England (they are American), but when she has a chance to really do something to help, she can’t keep her cool and acts like a shrew. She also totally judges all Englishmen as horrible people (this is right after the revolutionary war), but then seems to damn the English for judging her the same way.

The narrator did a great job on male voices, but other than that, everything else sounded like she was depressed. Or maybe she was trying to sound soothing? Whatever it was, it just didn’t work for me.

I usually get a new iPhone about every two years. But after listening to this particular podcast, I am now going to wait until I absolutely have to get a new one. I had no idea what went into the making of a battery. I’ll be much more aware of my purchases from now on.

The plot was good. It kept me interested. Benjamin Sands did a great job on the male voices, but the female voices were horrible.

I think I like this narrator better than the women that did the first two books separately. There were some issues with the sound, though. Sometimes the narrator suddenly would sound like he was talking from far away, then it would improve.

Also, it's always kind of bugged me that the authors found they needed to constantly be talking about how everything was organic and natural. It felt a little preachy to me.

I think the story line itself is well done. Sometimes I wanted to slap Mia for some of her actions in the first book, but the 2nd and 3rd she gets a little better.

SPOILERS! First of all, let me say I'm not usually a big love triangle person, so I aleady started out a little nervous about this book. This triangle lasted for half the book! I fast forwarded through three chapters just to get through the part where the breakup with the first boyfriend happens. Tru drove me crazy. First, she makes the decision to sleep with Jake before breaking up with her boyfriend. Then, doesn't tell him for weeks and her reasons for not telling him are idiotic. When she and Jake are finally able to stop hiding there relationship, she's all freaked out by the paparazzi all of a sudden. Like she's surprised that they are getting mobbed and she's like "oh, I'm not sure if I can handle this!" Really!? Like you've been touring with the band for weeks now and your surprised? Plus, she just broke this guys heart and she's already rethinking the relationship she broke his heart for? I rarely don't finish a book, but I'm quitting on this one. Also just looked at book two and it looks like this one ends with a little bit of a cliffhanger as the second book is also about this couple. I hate cliffhangers. Wish I would have read more reviews before I purchased this.

This one has everything. Very funny writing, kept laughing out loud, which is not so funny when you're out in public. Had some heartfelt sections too. Loved all the characters and the side stories that came with them. There's a couple of cameo's from some of her other series. Nice to "see" them. Felicity Munroe is excellent as a narrator. She does American, French, Italian and Australian accents and they all sound great to me. I'll put this one up as one of my favorites.

Ugh.. I'm so used to Renee Raudman! I know that this story is told from the POV of Derek, so I'm sure they thought they needed a male voice. Jeffrey Kafer, though, just didn't do the job. The sound of his voice is okay, no mouth or breath noises.. which I hate. My problem is that he isn't performing. He is just reading. I think he finishes every sentence the same way every time. Same tone of voice. I can't explain it any other way. I ended up speeding up the book just to get through it.

Please! If you need a male voice.. Try to use someone else for the next one if you continue the series! Sebastian York maybe?

I discovered Kristen Ashley this year and have enjoyed all of her books. They are witty, funny, and full of action. Just enough romance and some hot scenes in bed. You have to like the "alpha" man type character, but the women are strong characters too. By way of the audiobook and Emma Taylor's performance. She's fantastic. She switches accents flawlessly and does a great job differentiating between the characters. I really enjoyed the audiobook and am looking forward to the next one in the series, Sweet Dreams.

Narration horrible... story a little repetitive

Well, as you can see from the other reviews.. the narrator was horrible. The voices all have american accents and half of them sound like young men, not the "alpha males" that they are supposed to be. I found this to be especially true for Dimitri.. he might as well have been a teenager. His character was nothing like the strong silent man with the tortured soul we've seen in other books.

I usually have a lot of fun listening to Christine's stories, but I feel in this one she spent way too much time with the descriptions of how the main characters thought and felt about each other... every other line was how he thought she was so strong (or beautiful or smart) and that he respected and loved her for that.. so on and so forth. Then there would be more of the same on her part.. it was like, get to it already. It seemed like the Christine was saying the same thought but in different words all through the book. Wondering if she had to make sure this book was so many pages long so she just kept rewriting descriptions of stuff so that she could get her word count in.

Not sure if I like this new plot of the Lycan/Carpathian thing either. It makes me feel like at some point, there won't be any Carpathians any more. That is all I'll say about that so I won't spoil any of the plot (hopefully, I haven't done that at this point).

I think if I wasn't already interested and involved in this world, I would have shut this off. I finished it just so I can keep up with the plot for the next book.
