Historia
The artifact we found on Vesta changed everything. Sure, we were able to patent the new technologies we managed to reverse engineer, and make a hefty sum. But we could never have anticipated where these discoveries would eventually lead. The board of directors still wants to see what we come back with, but those of us on the ship know that there's something far more significant than Hegemony credits out here. And we have to do it right by humanity.

This book is excellent
Revisado: 02-09-25
New author for me but I must say that i was blown away with how good this was. I appreciate that the author did an excellent job of explaining the proposed science, the characters were believable in how normal people would react and the plot moved in a pace that keep everything engaging. It's frankly one of the best sci-fi books I have listened to in a while, similar writing style to Andy Weir, which is high praise. Can't wait to listen to the second book once it's available.

Pretty good

Pretty good story. Little slow in parts. Could have spread up story and made the hero a little less sappy about doing his duty when crap hits the fan.

An alien spacecraft four times the size of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier enters the solar system. Tensions run hot within the UN, but the alien vessel doesn't approach Earth. It’s my opinion
Revisado: 08-09-24
I don’t like to write reviews but this time I feel I must. Peter, you are preaching to the choir, I support and know a good deal about climate change. I’d imagine 90% of your listeners do too. Don’t preach to us. You are loosing what made your stories interesting, crazy new ideas. I’ve purchased almost all your books so I guess I earned this review.

Excellent series. Each book is written very well and leaves the reader asking “what’s going to happen next”? The voice actor is also perfect for the story.

Historia
After first contact, humanity learns that the galaxy is a place of ancient and far-reaching authorities. The Earth has not emerged as an autonomous peer into a community of sovereign worlds, but as an involuntary entrant into a galactic society whose demands are not light. John Riley, the physicist who inadvertently touched off first contact with his research into gravitation, now sees that the implications of his discoveries lead to more than technical frontiers. The galaxy, the nature of the Universe itself, is not what humanity has believed it to be.

Fergus is back on Earth at last, trying to figure out how to live a normal life. However, it seems the universe has other plans for him. When his cousin sends him off to help out a friend, Fergus accidently stumbles across a piece of an ancient alien artifact that some very powerful people seem to think means the entire solar system is in danger. And since he’s the one who found it, they’re certain it’s also his problem to deal with.

Solid B+ series
Revisado: 03-02-24
As my title says I really like the book and series. I like the premise, that the characters/aliens are smart and believable and the situations are goofy but plausible. My only mostly irreverent suggestions are that the self-doubt of the main character is getting tiresome. I also think part of the charm of this series is the main character "McGiver'ing" his way out of situations. I also think you could easily add some more comic dialog. I like it!

This is my first review. This book is bad, I mean really bad. The plot, characters, situations, literally everything is a shit sandwich. Don't believe me? That's cool, I guess we will agree to disagree. This was my first review!

Hero’s story with a bit of spice
Revisado: 01-17-24
This is a pretty darn good book! I usually don’t like the simi-erotic stuff (though this book does not have a lot of sausages and clams) because the plot lines are often moronic. The story line and character development are well done. The sexy stuff actually adds meaning to the book rather than being a crutch to keep readers interested.

Historia
Commander Lisa Chao works in the US Navy's Strategic Planning Center in Pearl Harbor. When tensions rise with China over Taiwan, she has to unravel exactly what's happening in the Pacific and why. What she uncovers leads America to war—but not with China. Bullets and bombs are no match for an extraterrestrial warship that can fly between stars, but perhaps the answer to the coming war lies not in the present but in the past. Could Sun Tzu's The Art of War provide humanity with a fighting chance against a technologically superior alien enemy?

One of his best books
Revisado: 12-31-23
I've listened to most of Peter Cawdron's books and in my opinion this is one of his best. It's a plausible sci/fi first contact situation with plausible reactions from world leaders, it's relatable.
