This book seems to get the beginner gm on their feet quickly rounding out strategies for a different types of play as well as tips and tricks on non-dungeon centric scenarios. I haven’t gm’ed a game nor played in many years but this book impressed upon me how the gm can manage play with less stress and more fun for the players. I listened to the audiobook and needed to visualize the illustrations although they are available via the Audible app. I plan on a second read with whisper speak enabled by purchasing the Kindle.

I enjoyed this book and it showed me very quickly how much effort is involved in started a SaaS company. I am a long time holdout for starting a company regarding software as a product/service and Rob Walling’s approach is dense with observations and instructions from page 1. I actually jumped back and read his earlier book “Start Small Stay Small” to see if a lifestyle business was what I’d rather go with. The SaaS Playbook” is geared more towards growing a business that requires more resources and effort but also potentially offers more payoff. Given how well I enjoyed these two, I also picked up Dr. Sherry Walling’s “The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Keeping Your Sh*t Together” to help me with my hangups in getting started on my founder journey.
