Historia
Beneath the dusky glow of a millennium moon, an ancient mystery is unfolding. Two very different vampires have each consumed a vial of blood containing the life force of two primordial princes. Braden Bratianu was only five years old when he was sired into the Vampyr race. The only fledgling to be made - not born - he struggled with his new identity. Kristina Riley Silivasi came from a troubled home and a tragic past. Rescued from a Dark One by an Ancient Master Healer, then mistaken for an ancient vampire’s destiny, she was swiftly ushered into a terrifying universe.

A little too much exposition - want more story
Revisado: 03-13-21
I've enjoyed this series and gotten to know the characters.... and was really looking forward to this one. And while I will say I enjoyed myself for the most part... I feel like a LOT of time was spent re-explaining things that had already been explained. I understand the need to do that about things that happened in past books - in case someone didn't read the other books - or needed a refresher. But multiple times - she actually re-explains something that happened in THIS book - and that felt redundant. Frankly... it started to feel like filler and interrupted my enjoyment of the story.
I do enjoy when the personality shines through of the characters - would sometimes laugh out loud at certain quirks or comments that characters would make that were so in line with their personalities.
And I do enjoy Eric G. Dove as a narrator for this series. He really takes the time to create characters with his voice and does a good job of keeping them consistent.

Historia
An investigative documentary from multi-award-winning producer Hana Walker-Brown, The Beautiful Brain looks at the devastating effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) - a degenerative brain disease found in people who’ve suffered severe or repeated blows to the head. Beginning with the story of FA Cup winner Jeff Astle, the audiobook expands outwards looking at the widows, daughters and families who are left fighting for answers following the death of their loved ones.

Interesting but a little slow
Revisado: 04-24-19
I found the subject matter very interesting and I’m glad I stuck with it and listened to the whole book. That said… I felt like it could have been edited a bit tighter. Stories seem to drag on a little bit from time to time, and were also repeated at different sections of the book. I came close to stopping a couple times… Because it didn’t feel like it was going to say anything new. Then she would take a turn and go into a new area. So like I said… I am glad I finished the book.
