I had never heard of this author before and saw someone share a link - thought I’d give it a try because Phil Thron is an amazing narrator.

I am very happy to have this as part of my library. The author has a very solid style that combines seriousness with humor that I very much enjoyed. The story itself was something I didn’t expect - combining, in my mind at least, a tale reminiscent of “Man on Fire”, “Jack Reacher”, and Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse.”

Do yourself a favor and download this to your library. Phil Thron delivers an amazing performance as always and that drives home this author’s excellent writing style.

5 out of 5 across the board.

The two narrators of this book did an amazing job. With over 19 characters giving individual accounts of the happenings of “FantasticLand” - they both knocked it out of the park with dell their delivery of unique voices and emotional responses.

The story itself is really interesting in that I was completely able to suspend my disbelief on all of the events that happened. Which is awesome. I have read/listened to many many books that have done the “oral history” aspect for horrific events and I must say this is among my favorite. Right up there with World War Z. And WAY better than the attempt made in Robopocalypse…

I found myself sitting in my garage tonight, finishing this book in one day because I really liked how it was done and how well the two narrators did translating Mike Bockoven’s story to an audiobook format.

I love the way Dennis writes. From the Bobiverse books, Singularity Trap, and the Quantum Earth books. And then couple that with Ray Porter's amazing narration - and bam! It's a win.

Earthside was an excellent follow-up for to Outland and I am very much looking forward to the next book.

So, until I finished this - 14 had been my favorite book by Peter Clines. This one, however, has taken over the top spot.

A great story with likable characters… intriguing and action-packed…

I was also really pleased with Timothy Adrés Pabon’s narration. He was fantastic!

Very happy I downloaded this.

The Kaiju Preservation Society was exactly the book I needed to read right now. It's fun, doesn't take itself too seriously, and was an absolute joy to listen to. Wil does a great job of narrating as always and John Scalzi's ability to write fun, engaging characters is on point.

I know that this was most likely a one-off story, but I do hope he re-visits this for a follow up at some point.

Very compelling story, excellently narrated by Raphael Corkhill. I didn't know what to expect going into this, but I am so glad I listened.

I really wanted to like this... But after 3 books, something is just missing. They're all flat, one-dimensional characters who exist only to do the thing they're doing and seem to have no life outside of that. In addition, phrases like "through the open door the figure stepped through" made me feel like this was phoned in...

I love the Bobs. I think my goal in life is to become a von Neumann Probe one day... I don't know. Maybe I'm just saying that because of how well Dennis E. Taylor portrays the life of the Bobs.

The first book really hooked me and I burned through the first 3 in a weekend. I have been waiting for another installment of the Bobiverse, and here it is. Ray Porter, as always, does a fantastic job with the narration and the subtle differences between the Bobs.

If you liked the first three - you're going to love the 4th. Especially now that we see the Bobs taking on personalities of their own, separate from the collective Bobiverse. We have factions and differing view points. Gone are the days of "Oh, Mario is just grumpy" - we now have full-on arguments and disagreements among the Bobs... and it plays out very well across the story.

Kudos to Dennis E. Taylor for his amazing story and very believable scenarios of life as a replicant. I am not-so-patiently awaiting Book 5.

An important topic for the world we live in today

Bloodshot is the story of a seemingly average American family coming to terms with the problem of addiction. We see this first when Emmitt struggles with his developing addiction to pain killers following an accident at work. With the help of family and friends, he is able to overcome the problem and move on with his life. His daughter, however, succumbs to similar demons later on in her young life when she gets involved with some less than savory people.

Baldwin's focus on family and friends rings true in so many ways - the most important being that overcoming the grip of addiction is something that is virtually impossible to do alone. Family and friends are often the ones to notice the signs of addiction and push for change and recovery. I remember reading "Go Ask Alice" (written by Beatrice Sparks) when I was younger - and Timothy Baldwin's story reminds me of that memoir in a lot of ways.

The running theme of forgiveness is paramount in this story, and for good reason - An addict will always be an addict. They may no longer be using, but that demon will always haunt them and only through the forgiveness of their friends, family, and loved ones will they ever feel strong enough to say "no more" to their addiction.

In a country currently facing growing problems with heroin and opioid addiction - it's important that we all look for the signs in those around us and offer a hand when the burden is too great for them to carry on their own.

When I first started the Duck and Cover series, I wasn't sure where they were going... But MAN I am glad I've stuck around for the ride.

Benjamin Wallace and Phil Thron are back with the next installment to give us more of everything that has made this series so great. Humor, danger, intrigue, humor, talking dogs, and people in leather pants wearing shoulder pads. No, seriously.

If you've already made your way through the first 4 in the series, as well as "Tales of the Apocalypse" you can't miss out on this one as it is building up to the biggest threat the post-apocalyptic world has seen since the apocalypse!
