Historia
When English agent Gene Hawkins told his boss he'd forego his vacation to search for millionaire Dave Teller's prized missing stallion, he didn't know his retainer would include the attention of his boss's beautiful teenage daughter - or Teller's seldom sober wife. He also didn't know that a trail from London to New York to Las Vegas to California would lead eventually to murder.

Great story about the USA Horses
Revisado: 04-06-22
I loved the story, especially the familiarity of the parts that were about the states I was familiar with. I was hoping he would eventually want to live and not end the book with him still not sure that he could stand to survive. The death of his friend seemed to have made him realize that he did want to go on. Also, the lovely young girl/woman who was attracted to him, helped him as well.I was happy at the ending.

A very scary story.
Revisado: 04-03-22
I was very drawn to the characters in the story. Especially the main one. His job in the law and his dream of riding horses. I understand his dream. At one time I dreamed of riding them. I also dreamed of being a great artist. Instead, I became a mother of two boys, by two different fathers. But, the boys were a wonderful treasure. So his dreams and mine, were answered in different ways.

Historia
When midwife Sarah Brandt visits Little Italy to check up on a new mother who delivered her baby just the day before, she finds the young woman dead. The family insists that the death was from complications of childbirth. Sarah disagrees. So does the woman's own mother, an Irishwoman who spreads the story that the girl was murdered by her Italian in-laws, the Ruoccos - an accusation that inflames tensions between the two immigrant groups.

Italian murder and sins
Revisado: 03-22-22
It was a really unusual story, full of clues and inference. Sarah’s story is getting strong and more of her feelings for Malloy. I have enjoyed her growth and her enjoyment of the two children she has at home. Even though one of the girls is older and was a grifter, but it was to eat and have a place of shelter at night. She loves them both dearly.

Historia
Thinking that she has been summoned by German immigrant Agnes Otto to usher a new life into the world, midwife Sarah Brandt is greeted by the news of an untimely death instead. It seems that Agnes' beautiful younger sister, Gerda, had fallen into the life of a "charity girl". Caught up in the false glamour of the city's nightlife, she would trade her company and her favors for lavish gifts. And now she was dead - victim, no doubt, of one of her "gentlemen friends".

Very suspenseful
Revisado: 01-14-22
I enjoyed the story so much, especially since the heroine was a woman working, though she didn’t really have to. Also, it was so well-told and easy to understand. It made me cry a few times when I realized what a hard time it was for women in that era. It is better now but we are still the weaker sex. I was taught to fight by my father, so I could protect myself, and it came in handy a few times. It was also an edge-of-your-seat suspense thriller. I am going to read the rest of the books after the enjoyment of this one.

Dogs Tail
Revisado: 12-26-21
“Watcher” is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I’m sure that sentence is one of the most written sentences about “Watcher” as well. I am not a good writer, but I am an avid reader. I read “Watcher “ when it first came out, then circumstances caused me to forget it. I just listened to it again, and I’m sure the same emotional response had me crying and laughing and wishing I could have a dog like Einstein. I am so glad you wrote it. I have read all of your books, and enjoyed them. But none of them hit my heart like “Watcher”.
Thanks,

It’s amazing what bodily injury can do for a man. A fall from a racehorse left brilliant jockey Sid Halley dangerously depressed, with a wrecked hand and the need for a new career. It was a bullet wound that helped him find one.

Everything lost. Everything gone.
Revisado: 12-19-21
I cried when I read where everything he owned was blown up. I lost almost everything I owned that I left behind while I was in Japan.
I love the Halley series. I am already getting them together so I can listen to Sid on audible.

Nearly heartstopping!!!!
Revisado: 11-21-21
A wonderfully narrated story, exciting and beautifully told. I enjoyed it from the start, with the nearly heartbreaking story of a wounded man trying to decide what to do with his life after losing part of his leg. I love horses, and always enjoy stories that include them.

It kept me AWAKE!!!!!
Revisado: 10-29-21
It was an absolutely awful beginning, I cried. I became so invested in the artist and his friend, so I didn’t realize how late it was until my son, Matthew, came to see how I was. I was so engrossed, in the story that when he came in my room, it scared me and I jumped and my heart jumped in my chest! I was sorry to hear the end come up. It was a great story. I learned so much about Australia and the other islands, that now I have to get a book about them all. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was great.
