Historia
In 2013, the Toronto Police Service announced that the disappearances of three men—Skandaraj Navaratnam, Abdulbasir Faizi, and Majeed Kayhan—from Toronto's gay village were, perhaps, linked. On January 18, 2018, Bruce McArthur would be arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, and later sentenced for the murders of eight men. This book tells the complete story of the McArthur murders. Based on more than five years of in-depth reporting, this is also a story of police failure, of how the queer community responded, and the story of the eight men and the lives they left behind.

Great storytelling!
Revisado: 04-16-21
The author did an incredible job narrating this book. He also did a terrific job of writing it. It’s so sad that this killer didn’t get caught sooner and equally sad that the queer community gets treated with such disdain. There were about 5 skips in the editing (I assume) that some words were lost. I still highly recommend this book.

I really liked this book. Megan is very insightful. I grew up in KS and the WBC were on the news a lot. Although I don’t agree with their beliefs or practices, she helped me understand where they were coming from. This is an excellent read. I’d recommend to anyone of any faith.

The narration was very good. I like Kevin stillwell. But the story was too full of court drama. That’s just my personal preference. I am not a big fan of court proceedings in a book. But the book was well written.

Historia
My Prison without Bars is a courageous and harrowing journey through the catacombs of hell, from the mind and voice of a little girl, living with her own monster underneath her bed. Written in first person, this novel is not a memoir, but more a psychological thriller based on true events; chronicling one woman's attempt to claw her way out of the darkness of Child Sexual Abuse, while struggling to find normal, in a not-so-normal world. It is poignant, dark and graphic; not for the faint of heart.

Revisado: 01-05-16
It was graphic, but that came with a clear warning. I was so caught up in Taylor's life! I looked forward to when I could pick the story back up. I even exercised to it. I never do that. I got Audible to listen to books while I drive. This is part of my job that has reduced from five days a week to two days a week. This book broke me of the habit of only listening when I drive. I was sucked in and addicted to this story. The whole thing again. Thank you Taylor for being so brave and telling your story!

Two victims of the infamous Cleveland kidnapper share the story of their abductions, their decade in captivity, and their final, dramatic rescue. On May 6, 2013, Amanda Berry made headlines around the world when she fled a Cleveland area home and called 911, saying: “Help me, I’m Amanda Berry...I’ve been kidnapped, and I’ve been missing for 10 years". A horrifying story rapidly unfolded. Ariel Castro, a local school bus driver, had separately lured Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight to his home, where he kept them chained in the basement.

This is a fantastic book!
Revisado: 08-03-15
I highly recommend this book for true crime fans. I have listened to it twice now, and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Anthony Flacco is an excellent writer and a superb narrator. He completely had me into this book. His changes in voice for the different characters was so great and the emotion that he put into it was heart wrenching. I will probably listen to it again. Thanks to the Clark family for telling us their story.
