Important story

The author describes Epstein’s criminality, the complicity of high placed enablers, and the difficulty she encountered in getting out the story. There were times I thought it was overly personalized, but I came to agree that her personal story is important both in relation to Epstein and local investigative journalism. This is well worth a listen.

Genuinely uplifting

This is an intelligent, soulful memoir by a wonderful person. I am busy today but could not countenance not giving the props that are due. Very well written and read. I also grew up with Alba 66 “shakes” and weight loss meetings, also came to (some) terms with my body in New York City dance classes, am also in love with a man and in a family of quadrapeds. The descriptions of Midwood and lower Manhattan ring true but this transcends its specifics—a universal account of being oneself. Brave, revelatory. Highly recommended. Thanks Isaac. Love to you and everyone you love.

Comprehensive well written analysis of the man who would be king. Trump's narcissism drives his decisions and ambitions. He is not smart or disciplined- just ruthless. Worth taking the time to know more about this dangerous man-child.

Diane Keaton doesn't read this book very well

what can I say. I was as surprised as anyone. There's an underlying childish drawl and she mispronounces words (turns out Joan Didion uses "desultory" quite a bit).

Great book - but skip the intro - big spoiler

I loved the book and intend to download more Edith Wharton. What a strong and timeless emotional resonance. But I write this review to steer people away from my mistake - do NOT listen to the introduction. There's a huge spoiler that diminished the book for me - and not alot of insight overall - much more boring than the book itself, which is kind of a page turner.
