Historia
Two months a widow, Mallory Dent has made the impulsive decision to pack up and move on. In remote McNamara, nestled in the northern mountains, she can escape her grief, guilt, and pain. But the day Mallory arrives, death follows her, lapping just outside her door. A woman’s body is found floating in Loss Lake - and it’s not the first death on these shores. Locals talk about a monster in the depths with an almost disturbing reverence. Sergeant Joel Benson understands Mallory’s unease. Years ago, his own brother was killed in the home Mallory now owns.

For 50 years, generations of readers have flocked to Herriot's marvelous tales, deep love of life, and extraordinary storytelling abilities. For decades, Herriot roamed the remote, beautiful Yorkshire Dales, treating every patient that came his way from smallest to largest, and observing animals and humans alike with his keen, loving eye.

A joy to listen
Revisado: 05-13-22
As it turns out not only is Nicholas Ralph an amazing actor , but he's also a phenomenal narrator as well . His ability to mimick the voices of Tristan , and Siegfried ( in the PBS tv show ) is uncanny . There is nothing dull whatsoever about his narrating style . Not only are the characters voices well read ,but Nicholas also reads with such a passion that it is more like a radio drama than an audiobook . I could go on all day about his narration , but alas I have yet to speak of the book itself , so enough gushing for now .
James writes with such colorful vividness that one almost feels as if they are standing right beside him watching in awe as he delivers a calf . There's a kind of magic and wonder about All Creatures Great and Small , that I've never encountered before . It's no wonder that people have such a love for it . I'm not at all what you could call a scientific or medical person , but James passion for animals and his optimism are so contagious .
It was such a joy to experience Yorkshire and the people who live there through James' eyes . James is so full of passion , and kindness , there's an honest charm about him . I so enjoyed the way he wrote the characters of the Farnon brothers , Siegfried and Tristan , there's a hilarity about the pair , the way they argue , and the way that they just ...are . I quite often found myself grinning foolishly and laughing boistrously aloud while listening at work . Listening over the past two weeks has brought me so much joy . I often find myself looking at the world around me and seeing a bit more magic in what once seemed ordinary .

Historia
In Catherine Lowell's smart and original debut novel, the only remaining descendant of the Brontë family embarks on a modern-day literary scavenger hunt to find the family's long-rumored secret estate, using only the clues her eccentric father left behind and the Brontës' own novels. Samantha Whipple is used to stirring up speculation wherever she goes. Since her father's untimely death, she is the presumed heir to a long-rumored trove of diaries, paintings, letters, and early novel drafts.

Main character is unbearable and self absorbed
Revisado: 05-07-21
I was unable to finish this for two reasons , one the unbearably self absorbed main character. She's too modern for classic literature ...she bemoans her relation to the Bronte sisters , and whenever she's speaks to some she automatically assumes that all anyone cares is about is asking about her famous relatives . Also for some reason she decides to major in English lit , which she clearly hates . After about half an hour of this I wanted to tear my hair out .
Secondly the story just dragged on with few truly important scenes . All we want to know about is the mystery not Sammy being a self obsessed brat ! 🤦😬🙄

Historia
When 17-year-old Katy Swartz moved to West Virginia right before her senior year, she'd pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy Internet access, and a whole lot of boring, but then she spotted her hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up...until he opened his mouth. Daemon Black is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. It's hate at first sight, but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot guy next door? Well, he's an alien.

Demon ruined the entire story .
Revisado: 09-15-20
The author mispronounced Daemons name as DEMON the entire time . Honestly , I couldn't agree more . Demon was a jerk , a creep , and a pervert . Making sexual comments to someone is harassment . He also for some reason thinks wearing a shirt is uncessary accessory . Well guess what sweetheart ,having a shredded six pack for no bloody reason is nothing unusual for a male lead in YA or smutty romances .So SURPRISE you're nothing special !!
Needless to say if your body is your only good quality, I'm not impressed .

Donate body to science. Check. When 17-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she'd have her life - and her body - stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they'll erase what remains of who she was.

Boring as heck
Revisado: 03-11-20
I'm at least five chapters in and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED I get that she's not allowed to do anything ,but I don't really want to hear endless internal dialogue about HOW HOT THE NEW ROBOT GIRL IS and how attracted the new robot is to THE HOT DUDE that takes care of her . I have better things to do with my time .
