Chilling.

An excellent example of how a relatively simple idea can turn into something unique and absolutely amazing if writing and performance are good enough. I actually cried in the end. Artful storytelling.

Please compare the reviews from other countries
Revisado: 05-22-22
Do you see a lot of bad reviews here? You can change the tabs to see reviews from .uk and .au, right? Och, it's not that bad... what's going on?
The truth is that most bad reviews can be boiled down to
"I'm American, and I really get used to being a positive hero of stories".
or
"I'm judging everything based on how well it mirrors how I vote"
I don't love it ending on the cliffhanger, and it's less concise than, the first 3 books. But it's still Jason.

too much grind, too little relationships

Not a bad book, but a huge part of it is spamming 1-spell until the hero levels up.

ok interviewer, brilliant conversation partner
Revisado: 12-19-21
When both an interviewer and an interviewee are brilliant people, the conversation rises to the unusual level. Sometimes it's like you're not even there - they don't care if anyone listens. The only things that matter are bold ideas, brave people, and intellectual honesty.
I couldn't love it more.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

This shouldn't be that good.
Revisado: 07-28-21
My subscription was going to expired so I used my last credits to buy something... long... ok I'm cheap. Go ahead and judge me. It looked like it was going to be enjoyable. And it was.
It's fun, it's action-packed, and it's funny. But the book - just as its hero - is more complex than it's pretending to be.
One complaint that you could have is that the book repeats itself a lot. It's a little like binge-watching the entire season of TV series without the opportunity to skip the recaps. But I don't care. I already listen to this and 2nd part of the series twice. I'll do it again even if it means that I'll hear how Jason was hit in the head with the shovel by cannibal about 12,000 times.

Historia
In Subprime Attention Crisis, Tim Hwang investigates the way big tech financializes attention. In the process, he shows us how digital advertising - the beating heart of the internet - is at risk of collapsing, and that its potential demise bears an uncanny resemblance to the housing crisis of 2008. From the unreliability of advertising numbers and the unregulated automation of advertising bidding wars, to the simple fact that online ads mostly fail to work, Hwang demonstrates that the true value of consumers' attention is wildly misrepresented.

why nobody care about it?
Revisado: 03-19-21
I tried to talk about it with a few digital marketers and a few investors. Nobody is interested in understanding the arguments that are made here. I'm terrified, and it seems I'm the only one.
Great book. I wish it says a word about the fallacy of conversion tracking or mad an advice on how to protóect your investments if the industry doesn't regulate itself. But it's a great book.
