Historia
In 1893, there's no such thing as witches. There used to be, in the wild, dark days before the burnings began, but now witching is nothing but tidy charms and nursery rhymes. If the modern woman wants any measure of power, she must find it at the ballot box. But when the Eastwood sisters - James Juniper, Agnes Amaranth, and Beatrice Belladonna - join the suffragists of New Salem, they begin to pursue the forgotten words and ways that might turn the women's movement into the witch's movement.

Historia
When a chance encounter sparks an unlikely bond between rival murderers Sloane and Rowan, the two find something elusive—the friendship of a like-minded, pitch-black soul. Give Me Dark & Yummy
Revisado: 05-22-24
A deliciously (pun intended) dark and funny romantic comedy. I'm on my second listen until the next installment comes from this author. Loved the characters, Rowan is my new book boyfriend. In the end, we learn that there is someone out there who shares our interests and will love and accept us for all the quirky things that make us unique.

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Perfect story for an audiobook
Revisado: 05-22-24
The podcast sections kept an already fantastic story all the more entertaining. I found myself looking forward to the podcasts. An unreliable narrator keeps the listener guessing and working along with the characters to put together the clues. Not really a criticism, but the book brought in characters that I found hard to keep up with, and if I do a second listen, I'd make a score card of who is who. However, so many characters did add to the Who Dunnit quality of the story.

Sure, I can make my MC brothers laugh, but I’m not good for much else. Muscle? Sure. Smarts? Not so much. At least Brennan knows I’m one hot mother.... Well.... You know. No one ever wants me for more than a roll in the sheets. No one except Brennan. Will he still want me when he realizes how messed up I am?

Warm & Fuzzy MC
Revisado: 05-06-24
Again, my favorite part was the narration. David Allen Vargo masterfully varies his narration to keep you engaged in the story.
The story was a sweet MM tale of people from very different backgrounds finding one another and learning how to be vulnerable and communicate.

Extraordinary event and ordinary people
Revisado: 04-16-24
This is the Before, During, and After story of the lives of ordinary people changed by an extraordinary event. The narrative is wonderful and engaging. He has a beautiful voice. The narrator brought distinction to each character and his vocal talent kept me interested in the story. The story is grounded and sober, using the phenomenon of child disappearance to highlight the effect on everyone who experiences it. The story does not get directly in to the "why" it happens, but provides the mechanics of "how" it can happen. Like life, the characters don't get all the answers, but they do have to go on with the business of living.

Historia
Jane McKeene was born two days before the dead began to walk the battlefields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - derailing the War Between the States and changing the nation forever. In this new America, safety for all depends on the work of a few, and laws like the Native and Negro Education Act require certain children attend combat schools to learn to put down the dead.

An enjoyable book. Immediately interesting. Jane and her companions make for an entertaining mashup of history and fiction.
