Historia
An old house, a new lover, a fresh life for Dominick - or will the faith-driven doom it all? The past just won't go away. Dominick likes to idle there in history's comfortable remove, but when his mother dies and he meets the half sister he never knew he had, the past becomes more personal - and the present more dangerous. Dominick's perpetual peregrinations are interrupted by a visit to his newfound sibling's historic Hudson Valley estate, which is also home to a Wiccan coven.

Slow moving-no resolution
Revisado: 12-06-23
Nothing happens to the characters. Absolutely nothing is resolved at the end. No one takes advantage of possible human growth.

Historia
Barcelona, 1945: Just after the war, a great world city lies in shadow, nursing its wounds, and a boy named Daniel awakes on his 11th birthday to find that he can no longer remember his mother's face. To console his only child, Daniel's widowed father, an antiquarian book dealer, initiates him into the secret of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books, a library tended by Barcelona's guild of rare-book dealers as a repository for books forgotten by the world, waiting for someone who will care about them again.

It made no sense.
Revisado: 08-14-21
Sorry, I couldn’t finish this. It made no sense to me. Every character was taken to the max and overflowed their role. I kept waiting for something to resolve itself. Even something small! Perhaps I just don’t get the Gothic genre. I thought at least I would learn something of the history of Barcelona during this period. Mostly a waste of my time.
