Historia
Beck is everything Joe has ever wanted: she's gorgeous, tough, razor-smart, and sexy beyond his wildest dreams. Joe needs to have her, and he'll stop at nothing to do so. As he begins to insinuate himself into her life - her friendships, her email, her phone - she can’t resist her feelings for a guy who seems custom-made for her. So when her boyfriend, Benji, mysteriously disappears, Beck and Joe fall into a tumultuous affair. But there's more to Beck than her oh-so-perfect façade.

A lot of work - not a lot of payoff.
Revisado: 11-07-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Not very exciting - and not very dramatic. I suppose there's a twist at the end but its so long in coming and so drawn out that its hardly worth the 20+ hours of listening it took to get there.
Has The Distant Hours turned you off from other books in this genre?
Oh heavens no! I still love historical fiction - just not this book.
Have you listened to any of Caroline Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No this is my first - she was a good narrator - I'd listen to her again.
Was The Distant Hours worth the listening time?
Absolutely not.

OH probably the main character. He was so hapless. He couldn't catch a break. Made my heart break for him a bit.
Which scene was your favorite?
The dinner scene in Portugal - because you'd be hearing about it all book and it finally came out!

X-Men Meets Harry Potter
Revisado: 05-08-13
What made the experience of listening to The Rook the most enjoyable?
The narrator was fantastic! The story flowed, and was hillarious, smart - well writen. Since listening I have both read the book, recommended it...ok... INSISTED that my friends read/listen to it immediately, assigned it for book club and listened to it....AGAIN! Its that good and fresh, dramatic, creative and funny.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Rook?
So many memorable moments that made me laugh out loud in the car...on the sidewalk...in the supermarket...got some weird looks.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Mi-6, meet the X-men. I DO hope and pray they make a movie of this book!
