Rotterham Home was a hospice for young people—a place where teenagers with terminal illnesses went to die. Nobody who checked in ever checked out. It was a place of pain and sorrow, but also, remarkably, a place of humor and adventure. Every night at twelve, a group of young guys and girls at the hospice came together to tell stories. They called themselves the Midnight Club, and their stories could be true or false, inspiring or depressing, or somewhere in-between. One night, in the middle of a particularly scary story, the teenagers make a secret pact with each other.

Good Book ... not spooky

This book is good. It was interesting and I finished it in one sitting. But... this is not a fun, spooky mystery. I'm glad I listened, just be warned that it's sad and beautiful.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Happy Atheist to be better than the print version?
Maybe. Aron Ra has a pretty amazing voice.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Big book of snuff porn and dinosaurs. What do you mean, "Why?"
Have you listened to any of Aron Ra’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Just his YouTube lectures. This is good in different ways. On the plus side, he does voices. On the minus side, he pronounced Wichita (which it? taaaww) as we-CHEE-ta. You can't apply latin pronunciation rules to the names of Kansas towns. We voted. Science and pronunciation rules don't matter in our state. We choose what sounds letters make and what laws of physics apply in our borders.
I'd like to hear Aron Ra do more voice work in the future.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
Just discovering the author. He framed many things I've heard before in a way that had me laughing on the subway. I intend to check out his other work.
