Historia
The stories from Norse mythology linger in our culture today. Four days of our week are named after members of the Norse pantheon (Tyr, Woden (Odin), Thor, and Frigg). Wagner’s Ring Cycle has kept one version of one of the great Norse stories alive in the minds of music lovers. Fans of modern fantasy will find many echoes of the Norse tales as well. Something in these old and puzzling stories still has the power to move and unsettle us and to inspire new acts of creation. This audiobook will give you a brief introduction to some of the best-known myths.

Good stories.
Revisado: 05-16-18
Norse mythology is incredibly interesting and this book does a good job at presenting these tales. My biggest gripe lies with the narrator. He can be pretty dry at times. His biggest issue is the way he says certain names. The way he says Mjölnir, Thor's hammer, makes me think he never read the word before and came up with his own way. But that might be my fault as a Swede to expect a more Scandinavian way of saying these names.

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Great and fun, like the gods it portraits.
Revisado: 01-25-18
Neil is a masterful storyteller. My biggest issue with this book isn't with Neil but with Norse mythology. I wish he would've filled the gaps a bit more but it's an amazing read anyway.

Peter Kenny is great!
Revisado: 12-25-16
I've taken a break from this book due to work, kids and life getting in the way but both Sapkowskis writing and Peter Kenny's performance have sucked me right back in. This book is arguably better than the previous one mainly due to the faster pace. But the story of the entire saga is amazing. I cannot wait for The Lady of the Lake in March!😊

Good advices but it's starting to age.
Revisado: 06-18-16
Ever since I heard about this book I wanted to give it a read. I am a very outgoing person and love talking to people so I figured it was time to give this book a try and see what I could learn from it.
So the advices and guidelines on how to talk to people might seem obvious to some, it is a testament to the book itself. Through modern media we are all used to charismatic characters and more often than not they all use techniques that are explained here. The examples are good and I learned quite a bit, and even though I already used most of its teachings, I got new perspectives wanting to try new approaches.
With that said, it is unfortunately aging. Every point has a story attached to it which at times feel like the author was more worried about selling the book rather than getting his point across ("by using these teachings, this person became the most prolific person in his field. Who was this person? Abraham Lincoln!" Not a real example, of course, just to get an idea). It isn't as often to actually turn me off the book.
So for anyone who wants to brush up their social skills, it is a great book. I definitively had a good time reading it.
