I've always heard of Harlan Ellison and haven't really taken any time to check out his work but my gosh it is so painfully obvious how much of an influence this man had on science fiction. I highly recommend checking this out, all the stories aren't hits but they all left me thinking a little bit. He does such an amazing job of mixing horror, science fiction, grounded reality and the nastiness that shows what it means to be human. The narrator was also fantastic.

A wealth of knowledge but a flawed narrator

There is quite a lot to digest in this book and it does bring up a lot of great subject matter and information that I didn't even consider or was aware of however the narrator of this book does make it a little hard to get through. I think the first hour or two was a bit of a slog but once you get used to his style of narration it is possible to get through this book without much of a headache. This book is an excellent starting reference point for anyone who wants to become self-sufficient or take the giant leap to be coming a farmer aiming for profit. I highly recommend but do be aware that the narrator is a little hard to listen to.

A good general gardening book for beginners

What I enjoyed most about this book wasn't so much the source material but the narrator, he did a fantastic job and made the more technical information a lot more easier to swallow. The book is designed for general gardening and it does a pretty good job of getting your feet wet if you don't know where to start or have very little information. I think a majority of gardeners both medium and experts will still find good stuff in this book but it will mostly act as a way to test their knowledge. I don't know if I can stress this enough but the narrator was fantastic.

From Bee zero to Bee hero

What I enjoyed most about this audiobook was how descriptive and well written it was. I was able to listen to this book and then cross reference images and other things and I was immediately able to tell yes that is what he was talking about in the book. the book overall made me pretty confident and kick started my journey into beekeeping I highly recommend this book to novice and new beginners. It may not be the end-all-be-all for beekeeping but I definitely enjoyed it. Jonathan Yen also did a fantastic job narrating this book and enunciated everything fantastically. I am looking forward to checking out other audiobooks that he has narrated

A must for fans of Post nuke.

You can tell the writer put his heart into it. While his narration started off a bit rough his love for his story and style grew on me. Its hard to imagine it otherwise now.

The stories of each book were also very enjoyable. Simplistic in ways with a dash of McCarthy, his views of a post nuke America are interesting and feel grounded. Each book had me invested and looking forward to the next chapter. The trilogy isn't without some questions and issues but those are forgivable.

A new favorite that I look forward to having another run with in the future.

A great ending to a series that surprised me.

A excellent series that sucked me in since book one. This ties everything up and to get the most out of this I would recommend you read both Order of the Centurion and Imperitor. The ending and character mentions might leave some wrong impressions. From start to finish this was a blast and the series and bittersweet events of this book was just a awesome note to end on. I look forward to what season two brings. KTF!

Some work is needed but it was enjoyable.

TLDR: Needs some work but a fair start for a new writer. Fun cast of characters that is unfortunately brought down a peg by the narrator.

For this writers first foray into scifi I feel he is on the right track but he needs to tighten up his writing skill and style a bit. The first half of the book just felt all over the place and it wasn't until the second half that I felt like he hit his mark. For a original story and setting I did find it pretty interesting and with some more time to cook I think this series could shape up to be pretty enjoyable.

I personally am not a big fan of the narrator. His style and quality was all over the place. During some chapters his performance was really well done and on others it felt like he was struggling while reading the script.

If you are up for a fresh scifi story that is far from perfect but has it's merits then it is worth a listen. Just go into it with the ability to enjoy both the poor and really good sections. I will purchase the sequel if it is released.

Better then any recent Alien movie.

Amazing cast and the actors killed it. The actress who played Ripley was so good I thought it was Sigourney Weaver. The plot was ok but the actors and production value really sold it. For a free bonus this was a great way to spend 4 hours. Very enjoyable.

Not as good as Thrawn but still worth a listen.

Having loved the first book in the series I felt that Alliances missed a few marks in comparison to the previous installation. This one is a bit more action heavy versus its political counterpart. Without spoiling to much the story bounces between Thrawn and Anakin during their brief time together during the Clone Wars and also during the newer released REBELS timeline. Overall the two stories were interesting in their own right but not nearly as captivating as they could have been. If you are a fan of Star Wars or Thrawn I believe you will still get a kick out of the story. It also answers some questions and gives some more insight into past and present events.

Perhaps my biggest issue is with Marcs performance in this one. Primarily with how he handles Anakin and Vader. While he is super talented and gives so much weight to characters like Thrawn and other minor/supporting characters, his take on Anakin and Vader was just not all that impressive. Given that these two characters make a large portion of the book it does take its toll as the story progressed. I hate to say it but Anakin sounded like a stoned surfer bro.

Overall a fun and enjoyable listen even if it had some issues.
