Historia
Laurie is sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend: the man from the bus.

Wonderful and Light!
Revisado: 01-03-19
Loved how the chapters went between Jack and Laurie and how it’s over the course of several years. The book reads fast with the short chapters yet you learn so much about the characters. This could be a book (much like your favorite holiday movie) that you pick up every year in December.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: If he doesn't play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone's business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he's been emailing with, will be compromised.

Fast Read

Did not want to stop listening. Brings you right back to the people you thought you knew in high school and all the awkwardness. Loved the POV. Great, fast read.

Historia
Lucy and Owen, ambitious, thoroughly-therapized New Yorkers, have taken the plunge, trading in their crazy life in a cramped apartment for Beekman, a bucolic Hudson Valley exurb. They've got a 200-year-old house, an autistic son obsessed with the Titanic, and 17 chickens, at last count. It's the kind of paradise where stay-at-home moms team up to cook the school's "hot lunch", dads grill grass-fed burgers, and, as Lucy observes, "chopping kale has become a certain kind of American housewife's version of chopping wood".

Five Star
Revisado: 06-27-17
What made the experience of listening to The Arrangement the most enjoyable?
The reasons behind all of the five-stars is because this book was exactly what I was needing. In search for a book that had likable characters, an interesting story line, and was "light" - it hit everything. Even though the story is fiction, there are many relate-able aspects associated with marriage that I appreciated. Ellen Archer does a great job capturing everything.

Historia
Eleanor knows she's a mess. But today she will tackle the little things. She will shower and get dressed. She will have her poetry and yoga lessons after dropping off her son, Timby. She won't swear. She will initiate sex with her husband, Joe. But before she can put her modest plan into action - life happens. Today, it turns out, is the day Timby has decided to fake sick to weasel his way into his mother's company. It's also the day Joe has chosen to tell his office - but not Eleanor - that he's on vacation.

Buy the hard copy
Revisado: 02-06-17
Not sure what was going on with this narrative. I enjoyed the beginning when I somewhat knew what was going on. The voice changed but not drastically so I was confused on if there was a character switch or not...I would recommend buying the hard copy instead of listening because I found it difficult to follow along.

Historia
How do you feel about setting goals? I’ve heard people say they feel energized, depressed, confused, terrified, pumped, ambivalent, lost...or all of the above. Here’s what I’ve realized: Our relationship to success is inside-out. When we make our New Year’s resolutions, bucket lists, big plans, or weekly to-dos, we’re hoping that when we "arrive" we’ll be fulfilled. Our hearts will swell as we cross the finish line, and then we can finally relax and savor our happiness. Except more often than not, that doesn’t happen....

Good but be Careful
Revisado: 12-06-16
I love the message of this book. I would recommend this to those in your life who have not yet dabbled in self help or are new to the world of desire and happiness. Although its new information, much around this topic is already written about. I say "be careful" in that, this book can put you to sleep. Not because the material is boring, but because her voice is so soothing and relaxing.

Just when Glennon Doyle Melton was beginning to feel she had it all figured out - three happy children, a doting spouse, and a writing career so successful that her first book catapulted to the top of the New York Times best seller list - her husband revealed his infidelity and she was forced to realize that nothing was as it seemed. A recovering alcoholic and bulimic, Glennon found that rock bottom was a familiar place. In the midst of crisis, she knew to hold on to what she discovered in recovery: that her deepest pain has always held within it an invitation to a richer life.

Journey of the warrior
Revisado: 10-17-16
The first few chapters are hard to listen to, not because of the performance but because the story is truly a story. It's the beginning of her journey and worth listening to until the last chapter.

Not expecting this book to be so good.
Revisado: 09-01-16
I was actually looking for another book title when I stumbled upon this one. I read a little about it and thought it would be an easy, entertaining listen. It was that but more. There were lines in this that grabbed my attention because they were something I related too a little too much. Great story for any age...not just young adult.
