Gets better with each book
Revisado: 01-07-17
Not a genre I ever thought I would enjoy American military but his heroes are well written and extremely likeable. Good plots several twists and turns and inevitable red herrings. Can't wait have the next one ready to start.

Historia
Military criminal investigator John Puller is drawn closer to home when his aunt is found dead in her house in Paradise, Florida. The local police have ruled the death as an accident, but Puller finds evidence to suggest that she may well have been murdered. On the surface the town lives up to its name, but as Puller digs deeper he realises that this town and its inhabitants are more akin to Hell than Paradise. His belief is confirmed as evidence of strange and inexplicable events come to light.

Great book
Revisado: 12-02-15
I have read this possibly a couple of times. Listening to it confirms my suspicion that I am a 'skimmer' reader! I rush reading passages as I really want to know what comes next. I am being pleasantly surprised with audiobooks in that they sound like a story I may have read about rather than actually read. Thoroughly enjoyed this and narration was good. Really liked that he read slightly faster at the exciting parts bit like I would've read it! I love Dean Koontz and am happily looking forward to listening to more that I've previously read.

Historia
It's June in Montreal, and Dr. Temperance Brennan, who has left a shaky marriage back home in North Carolina to take on the challenging assignment of Director of Forensic Anthropology for the province of Quebec, looks forward to a relaxing weekend in beautiful Quebec City. First, though, she must stop at a newly uncovered burial site in the heart of the city. The remains are probably old and only of archeological interest, but Tempe must make sure they're not a case for the police. One look at the decomposed and decapitated corpse, stored neatly in plastic bags, tells her she'll spend the weekend in the crime lab.

Glad I didn't take heed of negative reviews
Revisado: 11-22-15
Having read the negative reviews of this book for some reason I purchased it anyway. Having read one of her books I knew it wasn't 'Bones' the tv series and was based in Quebec.
The narration was good. Ok sometimes 'breathy' but it was just one isrening to someone tell you their version of events. Annoying - definitely not.
Too much French I read a couple of times was there a need? It's set in Quebec where their language is French so yes street names stores etc will be in French. Her writing a very few of the phrases in French and then translating them into English I felt lent flavour to the overall story.
Overall I enjoyed the narration the story and background information and am looking forward to the next book.
My advice on any book. Try them and broaden your horizons. Who knows one persons hate is another's enjoyment.
