Surprisingly good
Revisado: 11-11-24
Despite most Eldar books or audiodramas being a mix between bad or ok this was was pretty good. It's nice to see an actual competent eldar who also doesn't have a massive ego. The way he talked about humanity surprised me and it made perfect sense. Asurmen is OLD meaning he saw us rise to the Golden Age of Technology and fall to the Age of Strife. He understands how we suffered due to the eldars folly and even chooses to spare humans who settled on an eldar world.
He is wise and patient which is a breath of fresh air in this setting.
The end was kinda obvious if you read an eldar book before. They always have this plot to find a macguffin from their old empire that will surely be their salvation only to be revealed to be a trap by the end. It's kinda predictable but overall still enjoyable.

Historia
Economics and comic books seem to be a world apart. But in the hands of economics professor and comic hero aficionado J. Brian O'Roark, the two form a powerful alliance. With brilliant deadpan enthusiasm, he shows how the travails of superheroes can explain the building blocks of economics and how the laws of economics explain the mysteries of superhero behavior. Why Superman Doesn't Take Over the World: What Superheroes Can Tell Us About Economics probes the motivations of our favorite heroes and considers what it would look like if their stories played out in reality.

Should have listened to this during college
Revisado: 11-03-24
Despite finishing an economic college I learned more about economics here then in 3 years of college. Guess it goes to show you that the only way to care about a subject you didn't care before is by linking it with something you care about. As I got older I started to care less about the hero and more about the world. How do people live in a world where Superman ruins Metropolis every other week when a new alien threat appears? Or in Gotham when Scarecrow releases fear gas all over the city.
Honestly, Marvel or DC should do a book or comic about this. This way the world they live in feels more alive rather them just ignoring the issue and moving on.
Overall a great book about economics and superheroes! Now, I think I'm gonna go check out the authors other works.

It's alright
Revisado: 10-02-24
Most of my enjoyment is honestly from playing the game months ago. Honestly, you need to have played the game to truly enjoy this book. The story is ok. Would have preferred to tell me a story of how The Midnight Suns former rather than this one off adventure. Also, I know this wouldn't have happened but I think the book would have worked better if the VAs from the game voiced their characters. Magiks accent is...strange. Sometimes it sounds more German than Russian.
Overall, it was alright.

Historia
All Wanda has ever known is her friendly little neighborhood in Queens. As an infant, after her parents died, she was adopted into a family where her doting Aunt May and Uncle Ben would always be at the breakfast table. One that includes her idiot brother, Peter Parker, who thinks hiding a spider bite, joining a secret fight club, and becoming a super hero are somehow good ideas.

2 tragedies having a happy story
Revisado: 09-17-24
I admit this is a great book! It's wholesome and finally Wanda gets a happy childhood. This book touched me who has never had a sibling.
It pays great respect to both Wanda and Peter. Really this book made me think that these 2 really should have been siblings.
It has happy moments, sad moments and some...weird moments. (SLIGHT SPOILER) Gwen dies. And Strange didn't do anything. Before he says he is training Wanda so she would never be caught off guard. He doesn't let her go on dangerous patrols with Peter but is ok for her to face Green Goblin? He could have supervised them and interfered if he felt this was too much for them.
Oh well, a great book and now honestly I can't wait for The What If Venom and Moon Knight book.

There are those in the great expanse of the galaxy that seek profit wherever it is to be found: the deal makers, the opportunists and explorers – the Rogue Traders. Granted power by an ancient charter, sanctioned by the Emperor Himself, these scoundrels, entrepreneurs and adventurers roam the galaxy in search of fortune and glory. None perhaps are as hungry for these twin vices as Janus Draik.

I was bamboozled...
Revisado: 05-06-23
So I started this mainly because I heard that UR-025 and Amallyn Shadowguide were gonna be in this story. UR 025 is the only link that can shed some light on how humanity was like in The Dark Age of Technology and I was curios about its interaction with the eldar ranger. Since eldar live longer most still remember the Men of Iron and what Humanity was like before the Imperium. Aaaaand I got none of that. I was expecting something like Vermintide. You know, a band of misfits trying to uncover the secrets of The Black Fortress. Don't get me wrong that did somewhat happen but not how I was expecting. Also the 2 characters that made me want to listen to this book only showed up for like 5 seconds as a past mention. Like "I was walking down the street when I saw an eldar and admech robot with a weird design". THAT'S IT! I kept going hoping they might show up later in the book but nope. Honestly the only good characters are the Kroot and Draik. The rest are just generic as hell. I swear half the book is just "THE EMPEROR HAS SHOWN ME A VISION THAT TELLS ME HOW TO BEAT THE UNFAITHFULL! GO THAT WAY!".
Overall, it's an ok book I guess. Nothing to special. It doesn't change the lore in any meaningfull way or anything. 5/10
