Historia
Mrs Packington felt alone, helpless, and utterly forlorn. But her life changed when she stumbled upon an advertisement in The Times which read: "ARE YOU HAPPY? IF NOT, CONSULT MR PARKER PYNE". Equally adept at putting together the pieces of a marriage or the fragments of a murder mystery, Mr Parker Pyne was possibly the world's most unconventional private eye, and certainly its most charming.

Superb narration as always
Revisado: 07-29-21
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the wonderful Hugh Fraser narrate this series of short stories. It would be lovely to see Parker Pyne on the television screen but I would miss the wonderful character voices of Mr Fraser. I could happily listen to him reciting the telephone book! Even if it was in different voices!

Perfect narration
Revisado: 07-02-21
Hugh Fraser has both an amazing voice and a great ability to voice the different characters with consistency and warmth. He brought everyone to life, both male and female in a way that made me forget it was just one person performing the narration. I would highly recommend listening to him.

Historia
There's a damsel in distress and accusations of attempted murder flying around, but it's not in the comfortable confines of the English countryside; it's in the very distant city of Damascus. Lennox must go and investigate, although he's not too keen on exotic locations, and his old retainer Greggs is distinctly averse to the very idea. Nevertheless, ex-Chief Inspector Swift persuades them, and they reach the ancient city to discover a movie crew, a spy, and a couple of mysterious ladies.

Cosy crime with a difference
Revisado: 08-21-20
If you like something to listen to that is amusing, gently dramatic and keeps you listening then Karen Menuhin’s books are just the thing for a winter’s night or just to listen to without having to stretch your imagination too far.
Nice old-fashioned crime stories with a lovely set of characters all narrated brilliantly by Sam Dewhurst-Phillips. The way he consistently reads characters so you know exactly which one is speaking makes him one of the better narrators on Audible. He keeps the pace going with great skill and delivers the, sometimes witty, dialogue with aplomb.
I particularly like his female voices and Tommy. It’s like listening to a play rather than someone just reading the book.
These stories wouldn’t be the same without him. I’ve listened to all four of Karen Menuhin’s books on Audible and wish there were more.
I will miss Heathcliff, Greggs, Tommy and Mr Fog.
