Yet another masterpiece

Brandon Sanderson always leaves me wondering how you can be so knowledgeable to create the details for these stories. So many little nods to so many different things from the real world. So much attention paid to the details of human behavior. It boggles my mind. I love listening to his books. Michael Kramer is also the perfect narrator for them.

This book is awesome for learning to build sentences and recalling vocab. I slowed it down to 80% speed so its easy to listen and gives me more time to respond. I'd use this for any language.

I like the teaching style of these lessons. It's similar to Paul Noble's teaching style, but I'd say its a little slower and more repetitive.

This story is written so well and I get the feeling as if I were watching it on screen. I'm almost done with book 2 and I just want more. It's like a mix of assassins creed, elderscrolls, and even a little bit lord of the rings-ish. Great series and I'm glad to see there's a schedule for new books all the way out to 2027 [on wikipedia]. I will definitely keep following it.

I've been trying to learn Mandarin on my own for about a week and a half now [I work with a couple chinese people] and, once I learned all the nuances of the tones and some basic words and sentence structure, I got confused when I would listen and hear different words used for things than I had learned and started to doubt if I could do it. But this book is absolutely amazing! I've never heard a language taught in this way and, although I had to slow it down to 90% to keep up, it's working wonders. And I'm not even done with it yet haha I'm more confident in my ability now.
