Great story. I like books with differing time times & This book ties them together very well. The history is disturbing but real. Well narrated. Highly recommended.

Historia
In the spring of 2020, Lara’s three daughters return to the family's orchard in Northern Michigan. While picking cherries, they beg their mother to tell them the story of Peter Duke, a famous actor with whom she shared both a stage and a romance years before at a theater company called Tom Lake. As Lara recalls the past, her daughters examine their own lives and relationship with their mother, and are forced to reconsider the world and everything they thought they knew.

Mediocre
Revisado: 01-26-24
Loved the narration of course, but the story lacks depth for me. (I have nothing else to say but here is the 15 word minimum requirement. Silliness)

If Audible cannot provide a full audiobook that can be listened to in its entirety, they need to remove it from their library instead of wasting my time. So far, customer service has not solved the issue. Save your credit.

Historia
In So You Want to Talk About Race, Ijeoma Oluo offers a contemporary, accessible take on the racial landscape in America, addressing head-on such issues as privilege, police brutality, intersectionality, micro-aggressions, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the "N" word. Perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between people of color and white Americans struggling with race complexities, Oluo answers the questions listeners don't dare ask and explains the concepts that continue to elude everyday Americans.

Epiphanies
Revisado: 03-03-22
Really, this book is an incredible eye opener to those of us who think they aren’t racist, and think we are part of the solution. Me! I want to do better… and wow.. how ignorant am I?? Yes, some content is uncomfortable. That’s the red flag! Please finish the entire book. Pause to think about some concepts. If you don’t have any epiphanies, you aren’t engaging in the dialog. Kudos, Ms Oluo!
