Historia
Since it was first published in 1995, The Wounded Storyteller has occupied a unique place in the body of work on illness. Both the collective portrait of a so-called "remission society" of those who suffer from some type of illness or disability and a cogent analysis of their stories within a larger framework of narrative theory, Frank's book has reached a large and diverse following, including the ill, medical professionals, and scholars of literary theory. In this new edition, Frank adds a preface describing the personal and cultural times when the first edition was written.

Expressing Negative Reality
Revisado: 02-01-22
I am not often at a loss for words, then I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. It was difficult enough to accept the struggle of every day symptoms however, at the same time to be faced with the reality of PD being a “no cause/no cure” malady? How can one be positive while facing the negative? The Wounded Storyteller unravels the twists and turns of that that reality into a tolerant voice promoting awareness while not making others uncomfortable. Silence is seldom a solution. It is only through communication and research that those who are faced with this issue will be granted relief. The Wounded Storyteller explains how to do this.
