Historia
An orphan's life is harsh---and often short---in the island city of Camorr, built on the ruins of a mysterious alien race. But born with a quick wit and a gift for thieving, Locke Lamora has dodged both death and slavery, only to fall into the hands of an eyeless priest known as Chains---a man who is neither blind nor a priest. A con artist of extraordinary talent, Chains passes his skills on to his carefully selected "family" of orphans---a group known as the Gentlemen Bastards.

Brilliant audiobook!
Revisado: 06-21-09
For those of you who have not read Scott Lynch's books and want to read this audiobook....well...do not!!! I am British, have lived in America 13 years, know about the repressed attitudes of my American friends. Read the book or try to OK? Readers from the rest of the world enjoy this series for what it is : a fantastic, well written, rip-roaring yarn. If you have not read the book, then do not review the audiobook and for Heaven's sake please do not inflict uninformed opinions upon the rest of us.
This series is probably the best set of audiobooks ever hosted on Audible....for those of us who enjoy well written epic fantasy.

Historia
They called her the Swedish Maiden: the beautiful young tourist who disappeared on a hot summer's day somewhere in North Oxford. Twelve months later, the case remained unsolved. Disappointing
Revisado: 07-13-07
After reading a prior Morse story that was superb-this was too convoluted and didn't hold my interest as much. Though overall it was worthwhile-mainly due to the brilliant Kevin Whatley narrating. There were too many threads for a 3 hour audiobook. I hope the others in the series-another 11 or so-will not be the same. Audible-if you are listening(good pun eh?) I think you should make these stories unabridged like the Maisie Dobbs mysteries which are also exceptional.

Historia
The peaceful life of a village in Wiltshire is suddenly shattered by a disaster that strikes without reason or explanation, leaving behind it a trail of misery and horror. A yawning, bottomless crack spreads through the earth, out of which creeps a fog that resembles no other. Whatever it is, it must be controlled, for wherever it goes, it leaves behind a trail of disaster as hideous as the tragedy that marked its entry into the world. The fog, quite simply, drives people insane.

Historia
Chief Inspector Morse was alone among the congregation in suspecting continued unrest in the quiet parish of St Frideswide's. Most people could still remember the churchwarden's murder. A few could still recall the murderer's suicide. Now even the police have closed the case - until a chance meeting among the tombstones reveals startling new evidence of a conspiracy to deceive.

Worthwhile and intricate
Revisado: 06-02-07
Twist after twist-makes this an engrossing listen. Morse's long suffering assistant (from the TV series in Britain) does a superb job of narration. I shall definitely be getting all of the other dozen or so episodes in this series-since they remind me of home. My only gripe was the last 2 minutes which I found unnecessary but which did not detract from the actual ending to the case. Morse has never been known to be spontaneous in certain emotional areas.....enough said though. Listen to it now-you will not be disappointed!
